Adrien's POV

As the night embraced us in its warm cocoon, I found solace in Marinette's loving embrace. Our vulnerable chat had brought us closer than ever before, reaffirming the depth of our love. We drifted off to sleep, intertwined, our dreams filled with promises of a future together.

But our peaceful slumber was abruptly shattered by the piercing ringtone of my phone. Groggy and disoriented, I reached for it, annoyance etched on my face at the untimely hour. However, when I saw that it was my father calling, curiosity mingled with frustration.

Reluctantly, I answered the call, my voice laced with irritation. "Father, it's 3 am. What could possibly be so urgent?"

Gabriel's voice came through the line, his tone grave yet determined. "Adrien, I know it's late in Hawaii, but I need you to return to Paris immediately. There's an important meeting that requires your presence."

I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Father, can't it wait? I'm on vacation. Can't you handle it without me?"

There was a brief pause on the other end before my father continued, his voice softer this time. "Adrien, I understand your frustration, but this meeting is crucial for the future of our company. I've already informed your teacher, Ms. Bustier, about your absence. You have thirty minutes to get ready. I've sent a private jet to pick you up."

I glanced at the clock, realizing that time was slipping away. Reluctantly, I resigned myself to the inevitable. "Alright, Father. I'll be ready in thirty minutes."

As I ended the call, a mixture of disappointment and determination washed over me. I looked down at Marinette, her peaceful expression tugging at my heartstrings. I didn't want to leave her side, even for a moment.

With a heavy sigh, I reached for a nearby notepad and pen, quickly scribbling a heartfelt note. I placed it on the pillow beside her, hoping that my words would convey the depth of my feelings.

Marinette,

I didn't anticipate this sudden departure, but duty calls. Know that every moment I'm away, my thoughts will be filled with you. I'll miss your embrace, your laughter, and the light you bring into my life. Please take care of yourself in my absence.

Yours always,
Adrien

As I finished writing, I gently kissed her forehead, whispering a silent goodbye. It pained me to leave her side, but duty demanded my presence elsewhere. I quickly gathered my belongings, slipping into a tailored suit, and prepared myself for the journey ahead.

Within the hour, I found myself on the private jet, the familiar hum of the engines drowning out the thoughts swirling in my mind. I gazed out of the window, the lights of Hawaii fading into the distance, replaced by the twinkling stars above.

As the jet soared through the night sky, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation and unease. What awaited me in Paris? What challenges would I face? And most importantly, how would these three days apart from Marinette impact our relationship?

The answers eluded me, shrouded in the mysteries of the future. But one thing remained certain—our love was resilient, capable of weathering any storm. As I settled into my seat, my thoughts lingered on Marinette, her warmth and unwavering support guiding me forward.

Little did I know that the journey ahead would be fraught with unexpected twists, testing the strength of our bond in ways we could never have imagined.
