Kagami's POV
I felt a surge of excitement as I saw Adrien walking into the meeting room, accompanied by his father, Gabriel Agreste. He looked handsome as ever, wearing a black suit and a green tie that matched his eyes. His blond hair was neatly combed, and his face was calm and composed.
I had not seen him since our breakup, which had been messy and painful. He had caught me kissing Luka, Marinette's ex-boyfriend. He had been furious and heartbroken, accusing me of betrayal and deception. He had ended our relationship on the spot, leaving me in tears.
But I had not given up on him. I still loved him, more than anything in the world. I knew I had made a mistake, but I also knew I could fix it. I just needed another chance to prove myself to him, to show him how much I cared for him.
That's why I had agreed to my mother's plan, which she had devised with the help of Amelie Graham de Vanily, Felix's mother. They had arranged this meeting with Gabriel Agreste, under the pretext of discussing a business deal between our families' companies. But the real purpose was to bring Adrien and me together again, to rekindle our romance.
I knew it was a risky move, but I was willing to take any risk for Adrien. I trusted my mother's judgment and Amelie's expertise. They had assured me that everything would go smoothly, that they had taken care of all the details.
They had also told me about Felix's plan, which involved separating Adrien from Marinette, his current girlfriend. Felix had a crush on Marinette, and he wanted to win her over in Hawaii, where they were on a school trip with their classmates. He had somehow managed to convince Adrien to come back to Paris for three days, leaving Marinette alone and vulnerable.
I felt a pang of jealousy as I thought of Marinette. She was sweet and kind, but also clumsy and naive. She was no match for Felix's charm and cunning.
I hoped that Felix would succeed in his plan, that he would make Marinette fall for him and forget about Adrien. That way, Adrien would be free to come back to me, to realize that I was the only one who truly loved him.
As I sat down at the table across from Adrien and his father, I smiled at him warmly. "Hello, Adrien," I said, my voice soft and sincere. "It's good to see you again."
Adrien's POV
I felt a surge of exhaustion as I sat through the meeting, listening to my father, Kagami, and her mother discuss the business deal. They talked about numbers, contracts, deadlines, and profits. They talked about everything except what I cared about.
I missed Marinette. I missed her smile, her laugh, her voice. I missed her warmth, her kindness, her courage. I missed the way she made me feel, the way she understood me, the way she loved me.
I wished I could be with her right now, in Hawaii, where we were supposed to be together. We had planned to enjoy our school trip, to have fun with our friends, and to explore the island. We had also planned to celebrate our anniversary, to make it special and memorable.
But instead, I was stuck here in Paris, away from Marinette and with Kagami. Kagami, who had cheated on me with Luka. Kagami, who had broken my heart and my trust. Kagami, who was trying to win me back with her fake charm and false apologies.
She had not left me alone since the meeting started. She had sat next to me, leaning close to me, whispering in my ear. She had touched my arm, my hand, my shoulder. She had smiled at me, winked at me, complimented me.
She had annoyed me, irritated me, disgusted me.
I had tried to ignore her, to avoid her, to reject her. But she had not taken the hint, nor had she stopped talking. She had persisted in her attempts to get my attention, to get my affection.
But she had failed miserably. She had no idea how much I hated her, how much I resented her for hurting me.
She also had no idea how much I loved Marinette, and how much I wanted to be with her.
As the meeting ended, I felt a surge of relief. I hoped that this would be the end of this nightmare, that I could go back to my hotel room and call Marinette. I hoped that she would answer her phone this time, that she would tell me that she was okay and that she missed me too.
But fate had other plans for me. It had another surprise in store for me. As we got up from our seats after the dinner, Dad stood up going to make an announcement.
Gabriel's POVI felt a surge of satisfaction as I stood up from the dinner table, clearing my throat to catch everyone's attention. I looked at the four people sitting around me, none of whom I cared about.
There was Tomoe Tsurugi, Kagami's mother and the CEO of Tsurugi Industries, a rival company of mine. She was a cold and ruthless woman, who had agreed to this meeting only for her benefit. She wanted to ally with me, to gain access to my resources and secrets.
There was Kagami, Tomoe's daughter and Adrien's ex-girlfriend. She was a skilled and ambitious girl, who had been trained by her mother to be a perfect heiress. She wanted to get back together with Adrien, to use him as a trophy and a tool.
There was Adrien, my son and the heir of Agreste Fashion. He was a talented and kind boy, who had inherited his mother's beauty and grace. He wanted to be with Marinette, his girlfriend.
None of them knew the truth behind this meeting or the plan that had been devised by Amelie Graham de Vanily, Felix's mother and my sister-in-law. She had contacted me a few days ago, telling me about Felix's plan to win Marinette's heart in Hawaii. She had also told me about Kagami's plan to win Adrien's heart in Paris.
She had asked me to cooperate with her plan, to help Felix and Kagami achieve their goals. She had promised me that this would be beneficial for our families and that it would strengthen our bonds and our businesses.
I had agreed without hesitation, not because I cared about Felix or Kagami, or their feelings for Marinette or Adrien. I had agreed because I saw an opportunity to further my agenda, to achieve my ultimate goal.
I told them that there were 3 rooms booked in the private business hotel for our meeting for the next 3 nights. One for me, one for Tomoe, and the last for Adrien & Kagami, sharing the same bed.
Adrien horrified went to say, "But dad, I already have a girlf-" until I looked at a stern, cold yet composed gaze which made him reluctantly agree to my decision. Also, I could sense the smile of Kagami as if she won a battle.
We wished each other goodnight. Kagami dragged Adrien to their bedroom which made Adrien frown. I felt a little sorry but no, it is for our very important business deal. Sometimes parents need to make some hard decisions. I took the correct one. Right?
With these thoughts, I closed the door to my room. Thinking about the next fashion projects, contracts, and deals, I didn't realize when I fell sound asleep.
WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN BETWEEN ADRIEN & KAGAMI? MOST IMPORTANTLY WHAT ABOUT OUR ADRIENETTE? AND WHAT IS HAPPENING BETWEEN FELIX AND MARINETTE BACK THERE IN HAWAII WHILE WE'RE IN PARIS? DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWERS? STAY TUNED! I'VE GOT SOME AMAZING STUFF PLANNED FOR THE NEXT PART OF THE STORY AND MOSTLY THE PLOT TWIST! WAIT, ARE YOU ENJOYING THIS PLOT TWIST OR NOT? LEMME KNOW! BTW, I GOT 1417 WORDS IN THIS CHAPTER. I KNOW IT'S A LITTLE LESS THAN MY USUAL WORD LIMIT OF MORE THAN 2,000 BUT OH WELL, BEAR WITH ME TO LEARN WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! GOODNIGHT!
