Casey's Pov

I woke up due to the sun shining through my bedroom window. So I got up, grabbed my clothes, and headed to the bathroom to shower to prepare to head to Beacon. I got to the bathroom and headed inside. I took off my shirt, revealing a scar on my back I got from a pack of Beowolfs when I was a little boy trying to protect Yang and Ruby from the attack but got injured instead. Thankfully, my Uncle Qrow arrived at the last minute to save us. Finally, I snap out of my thoughts and head into the shower.

After I finished my shower, I put on my clothes and headed to my room to pack my thing like extra clothes, my picture of my family, and some books to read in my spare time in a duffel bag for Beacon. Suddenly, my sister Yang walked into my room, "Hey Casey, why Is Ruby packing her stuff in a suitcase," she asked me. I looked at her confused, "Squirt didn't tell you," I asked her. Now it's Yang's turn to be confused, "Told me what," Yang asked. I can't help but give my sister a little smirk, "Ruby got into Beacon two years early," I told her with a big smile. When I said that, Yang had a mixture of excitement and happiness on her face. "Wait, you're serious," Yang asked. "Yep," I replied. After that, we decided to head downstairs for breakfast.

We went downstairs with our bags and my gear in hand and set our stuff on the couch. Our dad is in the kitchen making breakfast. He sees us and smiles, "Well, good morning, you two, read for Beacon," Dad asks. "As I'll ever be," I simply replied. "BORN READY," Yang shouted excitedly. Moments like this make me glad I'm the adopted kid.

A few minutes passed, and Ruby arrived just in time for breakfast. Dad made pancakes with sausage, hash browns, and eggs for breakfast. Dad went all out, mainly because we're going to Beacon today. We are excited about this next chapter in our journey to become Huntsman.

I looked at my younger sister, "So Ruby, excited to be in Beacon with us," I asked Ruby. She looked at me excitedly, "Yes, Casey, I'm very excited," Ruby replied. With that, we eat our breakfast in comfortable silence.

After breakfast, we grabbed our stuff and headed to Bullhead docks to board Bullhead and fly to Beacon.

Two of Ruby's friends ran to us as we got to the airfield. "Ruby, we're so worried about you," Shawn said. "Yeah, when we heard about the robbery, we feared the worst," Dean added. Shawn and Dean are brothers and childhood friends of Ruby. Then Shawn noticed Ruby's suitcase, "Uhh Ruby, why do you have a suitcase with you," Shawn asked. Ruby looked at the two brothers with a sad smile, "It's because I'm going to Beacon with Yang and Casey," Ruby told them. "Really," Shawn asked, surprised. Ruby looked happy. "Yeah, isn't that great," Ruby asked excitedly. The two brothers looked at Ruby sadly, "Guess you're leaving us," Dean asked. I, for one, feel pissed at the fact that they're guilt-tripping my baby sister. "Don't worry, guys, I'll write to you guys on how things are going in Beacon. Besides, you two will always be my best friends," Ruby told them. They smiled and nodded at this, and Ruby hugged them. After that, we continue to head to the Bullhead.

We made it to the Bullhead, ready for the next step in our journey. We turned to see our dad with a proud smile, "I am so proud of you three for making it this far," Dad told us. "I just wish your mom would be here to see you three all grown up," Dad added. Then Dad looked directly at me, "Casey, I especially wish your birth parents would be here to see the young man you are now," Dad told me. I looked at the ground with a frown at this. When I was three, Tia and Summer told me they were not my birth parents. But to me, they both are my real parents. "Now, Casey, I want you to look after your sisters at Beacon," Dad said, interrupting my train of thought. I looked at Dad with a determined smile, "We'll look after each other," I told Dad. He smiles at this. We boarded the Bullhead and waved to Dad as the doors closed to take off.

We've been in the air for two and a half hours. Suddenly, Yang hugs Ruby tightly, "Oh, I can't believe my little sister is going to Beacon with us. This is the best day ever," Yang said excitedly. "Please stop," Ruby managed to say through Yang's hug. "Sorry, I'm so proud of you," Yang told Ruby. "Yang, seriously, it's no big deal," Ruby complains. "What do you mean? What you did was incredible; everyone at Beacon will think of you as the bee's knees," Yang told Ruby happily. "But I don't want to be the bee's knees; I don't want to be any kind of knees; I want to be a normal girl with normal knees," Ruby replied. "Sis, Yang is just excited, and so am I," I told Ruby. "Yeah, what's with you? Aren't you excited," Yang asked. "Of course, I'm excited. It's just, I moved up ahead two years; I don't want people to think I'm special," Ruby replied. Yang and I walked towards Ruby and hugged her, "But you are special," Yang told our little sister.
