Chapter 7: Transformation

Casey pov

I'm currently in combat class with my team, Team RWBY and Team JNPR, with Rick by my side as Jaune is fighting Cardin. Jaune is getting his ass handed to him. I wonder how Jaune even got into Beacon Academy. Jaune did well during the initiation, but it's like he's not even trying. I know there's power inside him. I wish I could do something to help him to unlock that power.

We saw Jaune blocking Cardin's attack with his shield, but suddenly, Cardin kneed Jaune in the gut, causing Jaune to kneel down in pain. Cadin took advantage of this and was about to hit Jaune in the head when Professor Goodwitch stopped the fight. "That's enough, Cardin," Goodwitch told him. "Mr Arc, it's been weeks now," Goodwitch looked at Jaune. "Please try to refer to your scroll during combat; we wouldn't want you to be gobbled up by a Beowolf, now do we," Goodwitch added. "Now we have time for one more fight; who will volunteer," Goodwitch asked as she turned to the class. "Professor, since I still have a good amount of aura left, may I participate in the next fight," Cardin asked. Professor Goodwich hesitated for a bit but decided to allow him to fight again. "You may Mr, Winchester, who do you wish to fight next," Goodwitch asked. Cardin looked directly at me. "I want to fight Casey Cross," Cardin announced. "Ok, sure, I'll humor your need to show everyone that you're a badass," I said as I walked towards the stage.

When I got to the stage, I walked past Jaune, who is holding his stomach in pain. "You good man," I asked Jaune. "Yeah, I'm fine, just hurting," Jaune told me. "Just be careful of Cardin, man," Jaune added. I nodded in understanding as I walked onto the stage to kick Cadin's ass for what he did to my friend.

As I got onto the stage, I am now face to face with Cardin. "Ready to get your ass kicked like your friend Jaune," Cardin asked me smugly. "I wouldn't be so smug if I were you," I told him. Professor Goodwitch began to put me on the screen, showing my aura levels. "On the count of three, you may begin," Goodwitch explained. "One...Two...Three," Professor counted down as Cardin rushed towards me with his mace in hand. He swings down as I dodge his attack and unsheathed Wolf Fang. Cardin rushed towards me again and swung his mace down again, but this time, I blocked his attack with the blade of my sword. "Nice try," I told Cardin. Cardin then forms a cocky grin on his face. "So, what's it like to be the leader of a team with two faunus freaks," Cardin asked me. "Excuse me," I asked him. "Come on, everyone knows that Faunus are just animals, and they don't belong here," Cardin told me. "Faunus have something that makes them special in ways that you don't know," I snap at him as I push him away from me. "How about that partner of yours," Cardin asked me. "What about Matt," I asked Cardin. "Aren't you ashamed of being his partner, knowing what a coward he is by using a crossbow," Carding asked me. I could feel my anger bowering inside me as I tried to calm down. "Everyone has their own fighting strategy, and besides, I think having someone covering my ass with a crossbow is better than having an asshole like you," I snap again.

Cardin rushed at me again, causing me to block his attack once more. "How about the pipsqueak of a sister of yours," Cardin asked me. "What about Ruby," I asked Cardin. "Don't you think she truly belongs here? She's just a child, after all," Cardin told me. "She may be younger than some of us, but she has proven that she belongs at Beacon Academy, shithead," I snap. I could feel something inside of me that is about to come out. "Hey, mind putting in a good word for me with your blond sister," Cardin asked me. "What," I asked him aggressively. "I'm mean, isn't she a slute," Cardin asked me. "I just assume that she might want to try me out," He added. I pushed him away with my sword before I looked at him murderously.

Third person pov

While Cardin provokes Casey, Blake looks at him worriedly and sees a murderous look in his eyes as she realizes what Casey is. "Yang, Sam, hold Casey back," Blake told them. "What, why," Sam asked. "Yeah, what's going on," Yang asked. "Casey is going to kill Cardin," Blake told them. "Blake, you don't think that Casey is a half-breed, do you," Natalie asked Blake. "That is exactly what I think Casey is," Blake told Natalie. "Oh shit, if Casey is a half-breed, then we need to stop him," Sam commented. "Let's go, Yang," Sam told her as they headed toward the stage.
