Chapter 6: Testing New Powers

Casey pov

I just woke up when the sun shone through my team's dorm room window. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes when I smiled at the memory of my date with Blake last night. I still can't believe that she and I are now dating. I wonder how Ruby and Yang are going to react to this. I even wonder how Dad will respond to the news. My family always worried about me, and to a point, I can understand, but I wish they had given me some space. I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to prepare for the day.

I finished getting ready for the day and walked out of the bathroom as I noticed that my team was now up. "Morning, boss men," Sam greeted me. "How are you, partner," Matt asked. "I'm good, just excited for the day," I told Matt. "Oh, I bet you're excited to see Blake," Sam commented. I shook my head at this. "But seriously, men, do you have any nightmares," Matt asked. I immediately understood what he meant. "Just a couple, no big deal," I told Matt. Matt walked up to me and touched my shoulder, "Casey, it is a big deal because your mental health is important," Matt told me. "He's right, Casey. You're not alone; you got us, your sisters and Blake," Natalie told me. "Thanks, guys; now go and get ready for the day," I told them. My team immediately gets ready for the day.

After Matt, Sam, and Natalie got dressed, we began walking out of our dorm room when we saw both teams, RWBY and JNPR, in the hall. "Casey," Ruby shouted excitedly. I smiled at this as we walked towards them. "Morning, squirt," I greeted Ruby as I patted her head. "Morning, Firecracker," I greeted Yang. "Morning, Shadow Boy; I heard that you and Blake are a couple now," Yang told me. "Yeah, we are," I told my sister. I then walked to Blake, "Moring, Beautiful," I greeted Blake with a gentle smile and gave her a small kiss. She immediately blushed at this, "Casey, don't do such embarrassing things in front of everyone," she said as she was punching me. I chuckle at this, "Sorry, I'll show more restraint next time," I told her. "OK, love birds, I think it's time for breakfast," Weiss told us. Me and Blake looked at each other and chuckled as we began walking to the cafeteria for breakfast.

We soon arrived at the cafeteria, ate breakfast, and started talking. I looked at the group of friends that I now have. Growing up, I had few friends, but I had a small group at Patch. If I have to be honest, this is nice. For once in my life, I can feel relaxed. I have friends to count on to have my back. Two extraordinary sisters to help me with my demons. And a beautiful girlfriend to share my time with.

"So Casey, we wanted to congratulate you for getting together with Blake," Jaune told me as he broke my train of thought. "Thanks, Jaune," I said to Jaune. "You two looked amazing together," Pyrrah said to us. "Thanks, Pyrrah," Blake replied to the Amazonian warrior. "Have you two have any plans for future dates," Nora asked. "Nore, that's private," Ren told her. Me and Blake looked at each other and chuckled. "No, Nora, we haven't yet," I said Nora. "We are pretty much taking things slow at the moment," Blake added. "Seriously, Blake moved fast by sleeping on top of you during our first night at Beacon, and you wanted to take things slow," Yang commented. Blake looked down, feeling embarrassed. For that, I slapped the back of Yang's head. "Hey, what's that for," Yang asked as she rubbed her head in pain. "Well, for one, you cause Blake to feel embarrassed," I told her. "Come on, I'm just messing around," Yand told me. "You call embarrassing my girlfriend, messing around," I asked her. I then felt a hand on my arm. I looked and saw Blake was the one who placed her hand on my arm and gave me a small smile. "Casey, it's fine," Blake told me. "Please calm down for me," She added. With that, I took a deep breath and calmed down."Wow, Blake, no one has ever calmed Casey besides our mom," Yang commented. I looked down when she said I still felt the pain of Mom dying. So I silently ate my breakfast.

"So, what should we do today since it's still the weekend," Sam asked after half an hour of silence. We all looked at each other, hoping one of us got an idea. "I know," Nora decreased. "How about we test out if Casey can obtain new Grimm armor," Nora asked us. I thought about this for a moment. I mean, sure, I want to know more about how my Grimm armor ability works and if I can obtain more Grimms for this ability. "Ok, sure, we can do that," I replied. "And maybe if you have enough aura left, we can work on using the shadows to make clones," Blake suggested. "That will be amazing," I told her. With that, we all finished breakfast and headed to Headmaster Ozpin's office to get approval to go to Emerald Forest to find Grimms for me.
