"Am I dead?" I thought to myself.
Knowing that the push down the stairs probably broke my neck or something I figured I was dead. Everything was white. The scenery was breathe taking. Everyone was dressed in white. It seemed like I was floating on clouds.
"Elyssa?" someone called out. I turned around. It was my dad.
"Dad?" I said in shock.
"Elyssa what are you doing here?"
"I, I don't know. Where am I?"
He got really quiet.
"Am I, am I dead?"
"Well how else would you be seeing me. Who did this to you?"
"It was," I stopped.
"Who was it Elyssa?" he asked. He sounded mad and irritated.
"It was Brad. He pushed me down the stairs. It was my fault."
I could see my dad start to cry. His tears weren't normal though. His tears were a gold type of color. They sparkled as they dripped down his face.
"Elyssa. Close your eyes. Think about being alive. And remember I love you."
"Dad? Dad?! Don't go!" Just then I woke up to Kellin screaming my name.
"Elyssa?! ELYSSA! She's alive!" He gave me a big hug. He was crying.
"Elyssa. I thought I lost you. You were dead for an hour." He said still hugging me.
An hour? Dead for an hour? How is that possible?!
"Kellin." I said my voice weak. "I love you."
He smiled his cute little smile. Then he kissed me. It was only him and I in the room at the moment. I kissed back. Even though I was attached to a bunch of machines, I had a brace on my neck, and I was laying in a hospital bed it was still the most perfect moment ever. After the kiss was broken, Kellin got in bed with me, put his arm around me, and we both fell asleep. We were awoken by a knock on the door. It was the doctor.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Fuentes. I'm so sorry to disturb you but I thought I would ask you if there was a parent or guardian that we could call and let know that you are here. My heart stopped. If they called my mom I would be in more trouble for disobeying Brad and making him mad. I thought to myself for a long time. Who should I tell him to call? My grandma doesn't know Brad beats me. So not her. Just then Kellin started to speak.
"She lives with me. You can talk to my mom out in the waiting room."
"Ok. Thank you young man." Then the doctor left the room.
I looked at Kellin in shock.
"Why would you tell them that?" I said. My voice still sounded weak.
"Well while you were out, my mom talked to your mom."
"She did what!"
"Relax! My mom told her what happened and said that she thinks it would be best if you lived somewhere else. In a better, safer environment. So my mom suggested that you live with us for awhile. Just until Brad gets over his drinking problem. I don't want to see you get hurt."
I sat there in shock. I tried to speak but I couldn't find the words to say. I would be going home with my boyfriend when I got out of the hospital. I was finally free from that house.
