Chapter 24

Im in shock. No crying. No panting. Just a blank stare as I sit the passenger side of Myles's speeding car. He quickly parked and we ran inside.

"Kalin White." Myles said.

"Im sorry...." The lady said after I zoned out. I had to.

Myles took my hand and sat me down in a waiting chair.

"What happened." I said. Looking straight ahead.

"He was texting and driving.. He hit the car infront of him. The other people are perfectly fine, Kalin spun out into a ditch. His car flipped over." Myles said.

I couldn't hold it in. This is so much crying.

"Myles and Ashlyn Parrish. Room 10."

Myles quickly thanked her. We found room 10 and he looked pretty banged up. I grabbed his hand.

The nurse walked in. "What's wrong." I asked.

"Couple broken ribs, couple bruises and cuts, not to bad. But he did hit his head pretty bad. He's in a coma.." She said.

I got down on my knees and cried, still holding his hand. I started to pray for him to come back. I still love him. I feel like this is all my fault. He was texting me. I don't know how I will go through with school tomorrow. I need him to be ok.

I stood up and kissed his temple.

"Please baby.."

"Ash." Myles came and put his around my shoulder. He hugged me, making sure I didn't leave contact with Kalins hand. I squeezed his hand. It's our little thing.

"I love you." I said softly. I felt a tiny squeeze. I was probably me imagining it anyway.

"I'll let you talk to him Ash." Myles said getting up. I nodded. I heard the door close and sat up on the bed. I held his hand with both of mine.

"Kalin. I know, we broke up. I still love you and I hope you never forget that. I would do anything to get you back. Trust between us have broken, but I'd learn to forget.."

I got out my phone and read my messages from him.

Kalin:
'Ash, I love you.'

'Please..'

'Im not guving up. I will never stop lobing you.'

I put my phone down.

"Don't give up Kalin. Please."

"We have to check him, im sorry but you have to leave."

"Noo." I started crying. Myles came in and picked me up. I didn't want to let go.

"Kalin, stay strong." I cried letting go.

"It's 4am, let's go get some sleep ok." He said.

"You're right." I said.

"What?" He said.

"Talking to myself I guess." I said.

He gave my hand a squeeze and then he drove home.

I only got 2 hours of sleep, but still decided to dress up a bit. Not a second has passed that I haven't not thought about Kalin..

I wiped a tear from my eye and myles drove me to school. He didn't trust me to drive alone in my condition.

"Can you drive me to the hospital after school?" I asked.

"Yeah sure, anything."

"Thanks cheeseburger." I hugged myles and got out.

"Have a good day!!" He yelled. I half smiled and walked into prison..

"Hey Ash." My friend group said.

I walked passed them and went to my class. I didn't really pay attention to everyone in my classes.. Or anything. I thought about Kalin.
