"James, we're off out now," Ada says, walking into the foyer where her housemate was sat playing with Karl.

"You ladies have a brilliant night, don't worry about Karl, he's in safe hands," James smiles, "you all look fabulous."

"Thank you, James, I hope Karl behaves himself," Ada responds.

"Oh, he always behaves," James chuckles.

"Sure he does," Ada remarks.

-

"Really?" Ada sighs, giving her sister an incredulous look, as Alex glares at the man now in walking away from them.

"It's not enough that Arthur and Tommy have threatened half the city, but you have to scare off a nice man offering to buy me a drink?" Ada questions.

"You want a drink?" Alex responds, placing some cash down on the bar, handing the barman Ada's empty glass, "I'll get you a drink."

"That's not the point, and you know it," Ada states.

The barman puts a new glass of gin down on the bar between them, Alex lifts the glass up to hand her sister, purposely putting her hand over the top as she did.

"Would you have taken the glass if he gave it to you like that?" Alex asks.

"Like what?" Ada responds confused.

"With his hand over the top?" Alex states.

"What's your point?" Ada questions, as Alex gestures to the bar where the man had been leaning, there was a small pile of white powder, "that's GHB, do you know what it is? What it does?"

"That's why you sent him away?" Ada says.

"Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, it targets your central nervous system, a bit of that in your drink, your ability to move or speak is impaired," Alex tells her, "if a stranger is buying you a drink, take it straight from the counter, don't let their hand go near it."

"How do you know so much about gamma-whatever you called it?" Ada inquires, as the sisters walk back towards the table where Amari was sat.

"Because I've used it," Alex responds, "it induces a period of amnesia."

"Everything alright?" Amari asks, noticing Ada's concerned face, as Alex takes a seat beside her girlfriend, "just splendid."

Alex's hand rests on Amari's leg beneath the table, her thumb gently caressing her thigh as Amari and Ada get into a conversation regarding the latest fashion trends, whilst Alex zones out.

-

"Are those Tommys?" Ada asks, looking over Alex's shoulder where a group of coppers were gathered by the entrance, staring and pointing in their direction.

Alex glances over her shoulder, shaking her head, "no, they're not Tommys."

"Why are they looking at us?" Ada asks, anxiously staring at her sister, "they're heading over."

"Ada, relax," Alex speaks calmly.

"Lex..." Amari says, turning her head. The policemen were around fifteen metres away from their table, making a beeline for them.

"It's going to be okay," Alex assures, reaching into her holster, calmly removing her gun, passing it under the table to her sister.

She knew by now that the coppers were after her, and that if they found her armed, it would only be worse.

"What's happening, Lex?" Ada asks, hiding the gun in her purse.

"Call Polly," Alex states, feeling a hand roughly tug her out of her seat.
