It was now Monday and Light and L were happy. Happier than ever, in fact. The Task Force saw this and thought they got back together. Which made them happy for them too. Soichiro took a look at L's ring and gasped. "No!!!" He shouted, quite upset right now. Aizawa looked at him, wondering what's wrong.
"Chief, are you alright?" He asked him as he was feeling his chest right now. It was beating loudly as if he was having a heart attack now.
"Light, why would you propose to L right now!" Soichiro said, getting upset. Light and L looked at him, thinking he's out of his mind.
"What? Dad, this is a promise ring! What it means is that it's a pre-engagement ring." He told him and he breathed out, thankful that it's not an engagement ring after all. He thought Light made the biggest mistake of his life as he didn't want to him to get married this young, when he's only 20, almost 21. He then calmed down, relieved that it was simply that and nothing else.
"Light, you really got me scared there." Soichiro responded, taking a few deep breaths and exhaled afterwards. He wasn't disappointed but he was at least glad Light told him the truth. This would've been a shit show if it wasn't.
"I'm sorry, Dad. I hope you can forgive me." He said, looking down in disappointment with himself as he wished he could've gave L his promise ring to everyone at the party, rather than the next day.
"It's alright, Light. Just don't make this into a marriage proposal next. This applies to you, L!" He exclaimed and the world's greatest detective smiled and let a thumbs up.
"Don't worry, Dad. It'll be a long pre-engagement." Light smiled. The whole day, Light was coming up with a song he wrote and L saw the music notes. L took the sheet of paper and smiled.
"Light, I didn't know you write music too." He said to him with a bigger smile on his face.
"I don't. I just wrote one song and that was it." He blushed, looking down. L went to get his guitar and started strumming it. Light started singing as he was actually very nervous for some reason.

The entire Task Force applauded and were proud of him, including Soichiro. He absolutely had no idea his son could write a song this good, yet this beautifully written. He knew Light was talented and excelled in a lot of things. But songwriting is a whole different story. L thought there was no way his own boyfriend could ever write a song this good and this powerful, it made him way happier than ever. Especially listening to his voice when singing. Light felt much better and asked L if it's likely they can start singing at random bars someday.
"Yeah. I don't see why not." The world's greatest detective shrugged, agreeing with the idea more than anything. With that being said, they decided to do so and L taught Light how to play the guitar and how to use it. That kind of thing and as such, Light kissed him more so.
"This is actually really fun. I haven't tried a new instrument in years." He grinned, finally able to get all the chords.
"What did you play?" L asked, surprised to hear that Light has played one before in the past and never told him.
"Piano. I took piano lessons because I wanted to." He told him and they made out some more passionately and went to do some activities, shall we say. They were that much into it more than anyone else and hid it well. Well, almost. Soichiro found them having sex one day and spoke to them about it, making sure they are responsible and safe. Light told him the truth and he was fine with it, as long as it doesn't interfere with their job. So far, it hasn't.
