Pandora had always been called odd, not that it was ever seen as an insult. She was... whimsical. Always in her own world, making light of the situations that arose to challenge her. And by her side for it all, was Floof. And Regulus, but this isn't about him.
Floof is a white tiger stuffed animal that Pandora had found on a walk by the woods near her old house. She moved shortly after that, she was six, and had brought him with her. He came to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he went back home again. He came back to Hogwarts, he went back home for Summer. He went wherever Pandora went. It's always been the way. He stays in her dorm when she goes to classes, sitting on her bed. All her dormmates know about him and are chill with it.
When Pandora befriends Lily, since James and Regulus started dating, Lily gets invited to her dorm to hang out. She sees Floof sitting on the bed and questions Pandora.
"What's a tiger doing on your bed?"
"Oh, that's just Floof. He's harmless, really."
"Glad to know." Externally, Lily shows a cool and collected person, but internally she's screaming at how adorable her new friend is while simultaneously questioning her straightness. And her intentions. "Just wondering... would you be open to coming to Hogsmeade with me?"
"Of course. We're friends, Lils."
"But what about as more than that. Like a date?"
"I would indeed be open to that." Lily breathes a sigh of relief. She hadn't realized she'd been so hopeful for that answer.
"Well... good. I'm glad."
"So am I."
I know, it's short. I have a few other things I'm working on and wasn't bothered writing something too long. Thanks to IfIWasNormal again for this prompt and tell me if you want a date scene/part two. Also I'm still in need of recommendations even though I'm in the process of writing. Happy reading!!
