I'm sitting at the kitchen with bailey and his homework.

He's been having some troubles with all subjects and his teacher as been telling me about it for the past few days.

"Alright, can you do this one?" I ask pointing to a question.

"No, I don't know how to," she says.

"Can you at least try?" I ask.

"No, mom I don't know how to!" He says frustrated while pushing the paper away.

"Okay, tell me what you don't understand and I'll help you," I say.

"I don't understand any of it. Can we do this later?" He asks looking at me with pleading eyes. He looks so much like Derek.

"Alright, but I want you to finish this tonight," I say.

"Okay," he says getting out of his seat and runs into the living room.

I take his homework and put it back into his folder and into his bag.

I stand up and go into the kitchen area. I look inside the fridge but we have nothing for dinner.

I leave the kitchen and go into the living room where Derek is sitting on the couch with Ellis.

"Derek, do you want to run to the store and pick something up for dinner?" I ask sitting next to him on the couch.

"Sure, what do you want?" He asks me.

"Im not sure, i know you're not picky and neither are Zola and Bailey, and Ellis likes everything I like," I say.

"So you drink tequila?!" He asks turning to Ellis. She giggles, shaking her head no.

"You know what tequila is?" He asks her in shock.

"Mommy drinks it when she's sad," she says.

"How many times have you gotten drunk in front of her?" He asks turning to me.

"Like once. Maggie and I went out to a bar and drank a lot and I got drunk. She was supposed to be asleep but she was awake when we got back," I say.

"What do you want for dinner?" He asks Ellis.

"I don't know," she shrugs.

"You two are useless," he says standing up.

"Can I go with you Daddy?" Ellis says.

"Ask mommy," he says.

"Mommy can I please go with daddy?" She looks at me when her sparkling blue eyes.

"Yes, honey, of course," I smile.

She hugs me before she pulls away and goes with Derek. They put their shoes and coats on before they leave the house.

I stand up and go into the foyer. I wait until they've pulled out of the driveway before I grab the test from my purse and take it upstairs.

I go into the bathroom and quickly use the toilet.

I put the cap back on and wash my hands. I take the test and put it under my pillow before going back downstairs.

I see Zola's still on the couch while doing her homework.

"Do you need help with anything?" I ask her.

"No, I think I'm good," she says.

"Alright, if you need anything let me know, okay?" I say. She nods.

I get bailey to do some more of his homework before Derek and Ellis get back.

We're now sat at the table again.

"You've gotten some of these done in your own, that's good," I say.

"Yeah but I don't know the rest of these," he says.

"You only have a few more questions lest and then another page, you just have to get these done before your dad gets back," I say.

He rolls his eyes.

"Bailey," I say.

"Fine," he sighs.

He has a hard time understanding almost all of these and even when I do help him he still has trouble with it, and I don't know why.

We eventually get finished with all his homework and by the end of it he's crying.

"You did good Bailey," I say kissing his head.

"No," he sobs before pushing me away and runs upstairs.

I sigh, taking the pages of homework and putting them back into his bag.

When I leave the kitchen I see that Derek is home with Ellis.

I go upstairs and knock on Baileys door but he only yells at me to go away.

I decide to give him some space and go into my bedroom to look at the test results.
