A/N: The story 'Infatuation' was primarily written in Catherine's point to view. I wanted to write Bucky's emotions and viewpoints from when he feel in love with Catherine. I just thought it was be a fluffy little one shot. Thanks for reading!

He found himself watching her too closely, too intently. That should have been the first sign that something was promulgating inside of him. It wasn't his entire fault. He had been locked up for God knows how long with no emotional connection to a single person until Catherine came along. It was different though. She was different. His past was a scrambled mess inside his brain. He could remember people and events and moments, but he couldn't piece together a timeline. He did know one thing for sure; he had never fallen in love with someone.

He had known her nearly her entire life and part of him felt dirty for allowing his eyes to linger on her face for too long. She was an adult. He had heard rumors about the two of them having children. Hydra needed more loyal members and what was more loyal than a child raised in Hydra from day one? It had seemingly worked out for them when it came to Catherine. She was almost perfect. Almost. He could tell she swallowed back doubts and protests when she was asked to do something. She was a beautiful basket case that was going to explode one day, and he couldn't wait.

She was sitting at the cold metal table. One of her required reads was laying on top of it. She had her chin rested in one of her hands. Her head was slightly bent to look at the book causing a strand of her hair to fall down. It was causing her to be annoyed and every minutes she huffed and tucked it behind her ear again. The slight annoyance caused him to chuckle since she annoyed him nearly everyday. He had been caught when she looked up at him from across the room. The corners of her lips twinged as she fought a smile off.

He swallowed thickly when he felt his heart twinge inside of his chest. It was a sensation he had never felt before. It was something he hated, something he wanted to fight off, but it felt right in a small way. He was too old for her even though she was really only a few years younger than him physically. He could never remember his exact age. In fact, there was a lot of things he could not remember past the day he killed her-he stopped himself. He didn't need to remember that day.

She had a teasing nature that kept him on his toes. She reserved it only for him when they were alone. It reminded him that there was still good in the desolate place they lived. A warmth would spread within him when she poked fun at his long hair or his metal arm. She always told him that one day he would be apprehended by someone with a large magnet. The thought of it happening was actually terrifying, but her delivery of the statement made him chuckle to himself. She brought that out in him; the ability to forgo everything bad and think about something positive.

He fell in love with her deeper on the night he nearly lost her. She was being too cocky, too talkative. She wasn't focusing on the mission at hand. It was only her third one. A pair of security guards that worked for their target came running at the two of them. James was able to stop his, she wasn't without injury. The cry that emitted from her mouth when his knife entered below her ribs struck a nerve inside of the Soldier. He ended up beating the guard until he was unrecognizable. She laid on the ground with her face pale. A bloody hand held onto her ribs.

"Keep your eyes open." James had muttered to her as he attempted to stop the bleeding.

"Easy for you to say." She managed with a weak smile. "You weren't just stabbed."

Even in danger, she could still crack a joke. Fuck, he had told himself. He was falling for her. She ended up being fine of course, but it had caused a new feeling to emerge inside of him. It made him notice little things about her; the way she mirrored his actions when he was teaching her a new move. Her eyebrows would be furrowed together in concentration. She looked adorable when she jumped up and down excitedly when she finally nailed the move he taught her. She would sometimes do a horrible, little dance.
