Anakin watched the girl flew out in the skies on a great beast.

The Padawan looked around him, the Jedi council was confused and shocked at the loss of their great friend.

Mace Windu crouched down where once was standing a mighty Jedi, now a pile of bones and ashes. The master Jedi looked deeply bothered by the princess's behavior.

"Did you have any idea who she really was?" Windu asked Anakin, standing up and looking at him with troubled eyes.

"I- Of course not, my master." Anakin defended himself from Windu's vile accusations.

Obi-wan comes between them and interrupts, "He didn't know anything about the girl, when he knew anything about the girl he told us about it."

"Good because if he knew, all of this," He pointed at the ruins of the building and the lost Jedi. "It's his fault"

"What?" Anakin asked breathless, how could he say that?

"This girl is supposed to become queen and she's already declaring war against us." Windu ignored Anakin and went to talk to Master Yoda.

"War? She was not declaring war, she was defending herself and her family. We were the ones that declared war when we came to her home and take her away." Anakin spoke up from behind.

Windu turned around to face the brave Padawan, "I may have not known who she was but I know her Eloise as a person, she would never do such things on purpose."

"Yet she did it on purpose, Padawan, she could've stopped her dragon before burning our friend yet she stood and did nothing. How could you defend that?"

Anakin stayed long quiet after Windu's statement.

"Padawan, lying is." Yoda says in a raspy voice.

Obi-wan looks at Anakin with a hurt expression but when he sees the confused look on his Padawan's face he knew that Anakin wasn't lying.

"I swear it to you that I did not know."

"Know the secret you did, but accept it, you didn't." Yoda spoke before walking away with the help of his stick.

His master tried to talk to him but Anakin wouldn't make a sound.

Not until his body touched the mattress of his bed he couldn't think of everything.

Yet, the thoughts about Yoda's words being true ripped him away from his sleep.

He started replaying all of their conversations together, now realizing that she would only become angry with him when he would brought up the princess.

The signs were as clear as glass yet somehow Anakin didn't see through it.

Maybe he did but just like Yoda's words he did not wish to admit his discovery even to himself? The young boy didn't want to feel like a traitor to the Jedi but the more he remembers his feelings the more he believed that Yoda's words came out to be true.

Even in moments like this, Anakin couldn't get himself to be angry with her. He realized at that moment how biased and delusional he was when it came to Eloise.

Anakin wanted to be able to be angry, despise her even for the lying she did to him. But he couldn't bring himself to forget the sweet girl he met at a bar.

Flashes of his mother's funeral came through his mind, the way she was so gentle to him at one of his worst moments.

He confessed to her that he massacred families but all she did was to comfort him, whispering sweet nothings in his ear.

Anakin's entire perspective about the witches changed when he met her. He didn't necessary had a bad view about them but didn't have a good one either

Almost all his life he thought that witchcraft being banned across the entire galaxy was a good thing, but with the stories that he heard from Eloise changed his view.

His master came through the doors of his room, taking a seat next to Anakin's limp body.

"You shouldn't beat yourself for it, my Padawan, you couldn't-"

"I knew."

"Master Yoda was right, I somehow knew yet I didn't act on my instincts because I was in-"Anakin breaks down crying.

"What's going to happen to her now, Master?"

Obi-wan sighs, "I don't know, but I don't think from now on is a Jedi's job."

"She's not bad, master. If she wasn't a good person you truly believe I would've gone through all this trouble with my own thoughts just so I was protecting a bad person?"

"Of course I don't, Anakin. But the Jedi council is in shambles and if Eloise decides to take the throne, another war would erupt and one is already breathing down our necks." The boy's master tried to explain but the Padawan wouldn't have any.

"But it's her right, how could a war-"He was interrupted by a sudden message from the council that Obi-wan have received.

They were called in for a meeting with some lord from Alstoria, he knew that it was Griffin.

All that Anakin wanted to know was if Griffin knew where Eloise was.
