"Oh, fuck!" I immediately crouch and roll over to the side of the wall, the guards coming out full speed shooting. One looks to me, the barrel of the gun at eye level with me.
Then, the guard drops like a fly. I look over to Alejandro who nods to me as Ghost took out the one in front of me. The body lays limply in front of me as I feel warm blood spatter on my arms. I couldn't move, my mind was in shock and my body hurt. But I had to move- I have to move.
I brace myself up against the wall, staying crouching as I walk into the artillery room. My eye catches something in the corner; something big, almost calling to me.
"No way," I reach for an RPG. I brace it in my hands, it's weight not helping my circumstances. The kick back and recoil would be too harsh for me to even remotely try and fire this.
"Soap!" I yell. I slide the RPG towards him, his eyes widening as he smiles. I nod to him as I walk over to a counter, grabbing an M4 and two grenades. "Can't fire an RPG but I can still blow some shit up." I kneel down behind the wall, loading the gun and fumbling for a grenade. I look over the wall on the roof seeing five snipers aim their lasers.
"Soap! RPG, west!" I pull the pin on the grenade, throwing it towards a crowd of guards.
I prop my gun on the ledge, shooting as many guards as I could without stretching out my body too much.
"Aye!" I hear a chopper sound and a harsh wind blows hair around my face.
I look up through my palm, seeing a chopper drop a rope. It was Price and Gaz. They both slide down, immediately starting to shoot.
I set down the gun, feeling my head get light. I didn't want to give up, but at this point I've lost over a pint of blood. Everything spun, and the world around me was losing definition.
"We need to get her in that damn chopper!" Ghost yells as he runs over to me, setting down his gun.
"Not without her getting shot you won't, boy!" Price yells.
"Ah, fuck it." Ghost mumbles. "We're going for a joy ride, Red. Hang tight."
He wraps his arm around my side, nodding to me. "Cover me!" He yells.
"You're insane!" Gaz yells.
"She'll die if we leave her here any longer- lieutenants orders!" He hoists me up into his arms, his bullet proof vest facing the gun fire.
He reaches for a grappling hook, attaching it to the ledge and then to his chest. "Hold on, Laswell. Stay conscious," I nod, trying to focus on the gun fire like an alarm.
I watch as his feet hit the brick wall as we slowly travel down.
"Die on me now Laswell? I'll come back and haunt you." Ghost says to me as we continue to travel down. The gunfire becomes more distant, and I hear the team yelling from above us.
I look up, seeing Ghost wave down the chopper. The loud wind slapping against the blades creates a mess of my hair, and Ghost runs to the helicopter hopping in and setting me into the very back.
"First aid kit, pilot." Ghost orders.
"Ruby?" I snap my eyes open, remembering the voice from anywhere.
"Kate?" I weakly say as I look over to her. She gets up from her seat, a panicked look written all over her face.
"What the hell happened, Lieutenant!" She swings her arms around.
"No time, we need to get her bleeding to stop. Immediately." Ghost slips off his gloves, pressing his big hands onto my abdomen. I groan in pain, my back arching.
"Fucking stop!" I yell.
"You're going to die if we don't do stitches immediately." Ghost looks up at me through his mask. I nod, looking to Kate who stares at the scene in horror.
"I would've been fine. You can thank Graves," I say his name with the most venom I can.
"Graves?" Kate asks with shock.
"Shepherd and Graves. They lost the missiles. We erased their mistake, and now they're trying to control the operation and over throw us." Soap appears behind Kate.
"You're hit, too?!" Kate exclaims.
"I'm alive because of Ruby, Laswell." Soap smiles to me.
"Red." I look up, seeing a cloth tossed to me. I regretting it put it in my mouth, and bite down.
Suddenly, a sharp pain enters my side. "Fuck!" I brace my hand against the seat, yelling as I feel the needle sew in and out of my skin which was already rubbed raw.
"Oh god, I can't watch." Gaz says next to me.
"Holy bloody Jesus," Price breathes.
"Ouch.." Soap says.
I get out a glare before I begin to scream out more, trying not to kick someone's teeth out.
"Holy shit- we need to head out, now! There's a fucking lot!" Soap yells.
"Copy,"
Suddenly my world was in and out again. The pain was too much, the screaming was too tiring. The adrenaline was running empty. And within moments I was reintroduced to the black.
