Jacob set Reneesme on Carlisle's cushioned examining table. The family followed us downstairs. Their hands shook as they stood towering over Ness. Carlisle motioned for them to step back, but Edward, Bella, Jacob, and me refused.

Ness moved turned her head from side to side.

"Pillow," Edward commanded. Esme ran upstairs and came back only a moment later with a blue pillow from my bed.

The Denali stood awkwardly in the corner of the room constantly asking if they could do anything but only Carlisle could help Ness deliver her baby. I grabbed Zac's hand with my left and Ness' with my right.

She screamed out in pain, and everyone cringed.

"Your contractions are less than two minutes apart. It's almost time to push."

"What? Can't labor take like twenty four hours? How did it come so fast?" I asked.

"The vampire and werewolf genes combined speeds up its growth, which is why it took less than a week for her to experience all three trimesters in her pregnancy."

Ness screamed harder.

"It's time to push."

Ness squeezed my hand. Jacob looked to me, and I looked back. It was our signal for put our differences aside and help Ness.

"Come on, Ness. You can do it," Carlisle said.

She screamed and pushed with all her might, but nothing happened.

Carlisle, who stood at the foot of the table, ready to catch the baby, switched places with Edward, who stood next to Jacob and Bella. Carlisle began pulling her shirt up, and Jacob helped. He placed his hands on her stomach. He pressed into her skin in several spots, and Ness cringed each time.

"The baby is too big. She won't be able to push it out. It will have to be a sea-section."

Suddenly, Reneesme's stomach moved to right. She screamed.

Carlisle placed his hands on her stomach again.

"Four broken ribs and a possible broken back. We have to get this baby out before it kills her."

Jacob and I cringed in unison. Zac squeezed my hand.

Jacob grabbed the shot of morphine and shot it in her leg.

"It will take too long. The baby might kill her before it sets in," Carlisle said.

He grabbed the scapel.

"You're gonna be alright," I said softly to Ness.

"No!" Jacob shouted.

"It's the only way," Edward said.

Carlisle cut through her skin, and I had to look away. She screamed louder than ever. He searched for the baby and pulled it out.

He cut the umbilical cord and handed the baby to Edward. He grabbed the towel and began to clean the baby.

Then, Edward handed the baby to Jacob. Jacob stared at the baby like it was Reneseme. You could literally feel the love in the room.

He placed the baby in Ness' hands, and she touched every part of its body before the baby threw up blood on her blouse. She turned away, and Jacob took the baby into his hands.

I stared at the small precious baby. My little nephew.

"What's his name?" I ask as I smile and stare at the cherubic child.
