Miles walked with long strides, I had to walk as fast as I could just to catch up with him. As we walked, several other avatars dressed like Miles started to join us with weapons and one of them handed him one. I kept quiet, I didn't know what I was supposed to do except follow his lead. He must've noticed my expression at one point, because he paused for a brief second to assure me that the weapons were just for protection.
We suddenly stopped in front of a door, and Miles turned towards one of the avatars behind me. "Put them on her," he ordered and the avatar nodded. I watched as she reached into her pocket and pulled out several bands and impatiently motioned with her hand to come closer. I hesitated, then came a few steps closer and watched her snap a band around both of my wrists, locking them in place. I pulled them apart as hard as I could, but they didn't move. She then put a thin metal band around my neck, securing it like a collar. She tapped it with her finger. "There's a tracker built in that thing. If you have any smart ideas about taking off, we'll find you."Before I could open my mouth to protest, one of Miles' large hands grabbed onto my shoulder and pushed me outside.
The dewy morning air hit me as soon as we stepped out, blowing into my face and hair. I couldn't help but let out a smile while I moved my toes in the grass. I was outside!! Oh how I missed this. My smile just kept growing and Miles noticed it. I looked up to see his face and I didn't even care if it was another one of his cold looks. "Thank you," I said, looking at him one more time before swirling my foot around in the grass.
I was moved forward a few seconds later, followed by the other avatars. Miles stopped once we were stood in a clearing shaded by the tall trees. I stood further behind him while he spoke to the others. "We are living in Na'vi territory now. From now on we will eat like Na'vi, sleep like Na'vi, ride like Na'vi. This starts by spe..ak..speaking..their lang..uage." I tilted my head at him. Was that him trying to SPEAK my language? I bit my tongue listening to him talk, trying my hardest not to let out a giggle but it didn't last very long. I interrupted him mid-sentence, bursting out in laughter. He turned around slowly and everyone stared at me. If looks could kill, Miles would have murdered me within a second. I lifted my wrists up to cover my mouth so it didn't look like I was laughing but my fangs still poked out. "You find this funny?" He asked while locking his yellow eyes on mine. I put my arms back down, revealing my toothy grin. "Newborns can speak more fluently than you." He stood up straighter and stepped close in front of me. I knew he was tall, but now he really towered over me. I looked up and saw an evil grin start to spread across his face. "Well," his voice rumbled. "Since you're so confident, you're going to teach us." I shook my head. "No." "I wasn't asking."
