I had flown beside Miles, teaching him how to control and ride his banshee from in the air for hours. Before we knew it, the sun had slipped away and left us with a starry night sky. I rode in front of Miles and soon turned around to face him and point downwards. I then dove down in a spiral and hovered above the forest floor before hopping off of my banshee, Miles following closely behind me. I stood next to my banshee with her head resting on my shoulder and watched him, his toned muscles flexed as he pulled himself up and off of his. He landed on the floor in front of me and ran his hand down his braid before letting it fall back behind him. "You did well for your first time," I said to him, looking down and softly running my hands along the head of my banshee. I could feel his eyes following me as I moved. "We call them ikran in Na'vi. This is Mi'niri." Her head nuzzled in the crook of my arm at the sound of her name being spoken. I smiled and rubbed her neck softly before looking up at Miles. "She does seem to like you," he observed as he walked over beside us. I smiled at him. "Yes. Our bond is strong, I have been with her for most of my life." I patted her neck and she lifted her head, spreading her wings out by her sides. She let out a rumble and pressed her head on my chest before taking off into the air, followed by Miles' ikran. I looked up and soon they had disappeared into the dark sky.

I hopped down onto a mossy patch that had sprouted with little flowers and flicked my tail behind me. I turned to make sure Miles was behind me and then sped up and soon I was running across the forest floor with him close behind me. I hopped across the smooth earth below and leaped onto several giant leaves, falling down each one gracefully until I landed and soon slowed to a stop. I paused and looked up to see Miles slowed down in front of the leaves above me. I shot him a quick smile and took off again, running through the lit up forest until I stopped in front of a slope that lead into a wide clearing full of fluorescent plants and trees (as in the picture above). Millions of colors beamed from the plants and vines below. I felt my ears twitch at the sound of Miles cursing under his breath after slipping down the leaves and slowing to a stop beside me. I looked up to the side at him and watched as his ears slightly lowered at the sight of what was below us. I smiled and brushed my tail along one of the plants behind us and began walking down the slope.

Once the two of us made our way down, I lead the way to one of the giant trees in the middle of the clearing (in the picture above again:)) that was surrounded by a large body of water. Little glowing lily pads and river rocks radiated colorful beams of light that reflected across the water. Several mossy stones peaked out of the calm waters and I stepped on top of them, swiftly putting one foot in front of the other and hopped onto the soft grass around the tree. I sat down and curled my tail around me, watching the water below us. Lightly colored flower petals slowly twirled down from the tree above us and landed onto the ground. I looked up and held my arm out until several petals landed softly in the palm of my hand. I lowered my arm and leaned forward, letting the petals slide off my fingers and onto the water. Little ripples formed on the surface, making the reflections sway and glisten. I lifted my arm again, turning my view back towards the falling petals with my ears planted gently against my head. I opened my hand and caught some of the petals, collecting them and setting them all in a small, colorful pile. Everything was just..beautiful.

You weren't the only one who thought so. Miles stood further behind you with his arm leaning against the side of the tree and his other on his side. His gaze followed the petals from above and scanned the lake, stopping at you. He stared at you as you twirled your body while trying to reach up and catch the petals before they landed. He inhaled deeply as he turned to the side, looking at the tall fluorescent vines that wove themselves around each tree in an attempt to avoid looking at you. But he soon found his gaze shifting ever so slightly back towards your direction and onto you. He knew he had a mission. He knew that this could not happen. He could not feel this way. He would not feel this way, especially not towards his sworn enemy. He stared at your purple tail as it swayed across the mossy ground and through the grass. He had definitely noticed how deep your connection to the forest was. He put his hand on the back of his neck and took a deep breath, moving towards you.
