Beep, beep, beep, beep....
Loki: How is she doctor? How is the baby?
Dr.: She will be fine. We are monitoring the baby and we managed to stop the bleeding for the time being. She needs rest. Her body is under a severe amount of stress and could be the cause of this. We're keeping her overnight, just for observation and we will see how she is in the morning.
Loki: Thank you Doctor.
Loki, obviously worried, turns to you and watches you sleeping. He sits next to your bedside and places one hand on your stomach and holds your hand. His eyes full of tears, his face long and drawn into sadness.
Loki: Oh my darling, please be alright. I know I said I wasn't ready for any of this but, I can't imagine my life without you or my child. If anyone is listening up there, please, (crosses his hands in prayer) please, heal my loves.
Suddenly the door busts open.
Bucky: (breathing heavily from running) What happened? Is she alright? Is the baby alright?
Loki: The doctor said they will be fine. How did you know we were here?
Bucky: Steve called me. Told me what happened.
Loki: Let's go outside, the doctor said she needs her rest, and I don't want our talking to disturb her in anyway.
Loki opens the door and Bucky just stares at you.
Loki: James? Come on, you'll see her in a bit.
Bucky walks out and Loki closes the door behind them.
Loki: (angrily speaks) Why are you here James? You haven't spoken to her in months. I thought you were her best friend.
Bucky: (speaks is a soft, but firm voice) I am her best friend. I didn't want to be in the way of you two. I needed to work some things out for myself. But I'm here now.
Loki: How convenient for you just to show up, when it suits you. She has asked Steve for you. Wondered how you were. Terrified she wouldn't have her friend back in time for the birth of her child.
Bucky: Like I said (grinding his teeth) I'm here now.
Loki: Why? You have nothing at stake here. I will marry her and she will birth my child! That is my child, MY CHILD and you have no part in our lives!
Bucky: Like hell it is! That is my baby she is carrying. Did you honestly think she would wait for you when you were gone. You left her Loki, plain and simple you left her. And I was there to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart! I love her and she loves me and that's my child!!!
Loki is filled with rage.
Loki: I swear by Odin, I will kill you for your deceitful words.
Bucky turns away, and takes two steps back, takes a deep breath and turns to Loki and calmly says:
Bucky: Loki, listen to me. (Hangs his head) I'm sorry for you having to find out like this and now. But I'm telling you the truth because I love her. And I love my daughter. I chose to leave.
Loki: (fuming with anger & breathing heavily) Why did you come back here?
Bucky: I chose to leave because I saw how she really felt. I saw who she really loved; it was you. I knew I couldn't compete with you. But the truth of the matter is, I love her Loki. Even if you stay with her, after all is said and done, I will still love her. But I need to be a part of that child's life in one way or another.
Loki's anger begins to subside.
Loki: You were with her?
Bucky nods shamefully
