PIP's POV:
I slid my hand into Ravi's, it fit the way it always fit as we walked along the sidewalk near Little Kilton Lake., A new thing Ravi and I had begun doing everytime I came home from university during a break- just a peaceful walk around Little Kilton. No guns, No bodies, And nobody else, just us. Team Ravi & Pip. I glanced at Ravi, he had a huge smile on his face.. even though we weren't talking, let alone joking around.
"what?" I asked, squeezing his hand a bit. He looked at me, the smile still lingering on his face.
"i can't be happy that i'm with my girlfriend?"
"no, you cannot."
"Well i am, beat it darlin."
I rolled my eyes with a small snicker at the comment. I looked ahead of us to see the old wooden bridge that had probably been in Little Kilton since the early fifties.
"Gah lee this place has been here for ages, still can't believe it's still standing" Ravi laughed, stopping at the edge of the sidewalk.
"Hey i don't want it to go down, i have some memories with this bridge."
"Like what?" He asked, letting go of my hand and putting his arm around my shoulder as we walked carefully onto the old, wooden planks.
"Well more on the happy side, Me, mom, dad and Josh would always go on picnics together out here, just to eat sandwiches and listen to the water- Josh would always try to make names for the fish that would swim by."
Ravi looked at me with a slight smirk and nodded.
"Maybe one day we can keep the tradition going and take our kids on a picnic."
My cheeks heated up at the comment, One thing I loved about Ravi- he always thought ahead.. way ahead.
"kids? like as in plural?"
"why of course, two boys- one girl."
"no, one boy, one girls- so it's even."
"oh no no Pip that's not how that's gonna go"
I shrugged and nudged closer to him, the wind blowing through my polyester sweater.
"Now, you said that was a happier memory , what's the other one?"
I looked at him, then down at the ground quickly.
it was forever ago Pip, just tell him.
"Well I tried to- i uhm. I tried to jump off it one time."
Ravi stopped, looking at me.
"Your joking, right?"
"No?"
"When?"
"Like, right after Stanley's funeral. I don't know, it was stupid."
"What stopped you?"
"Just thinking about you guys, and how it would effect you."
Ravi grabbed my shoulders and forced my to face him, and when I was- he didn't take his hands off of them.
"And you didn't tell me?"
"no.."
"Pip, Darling you have got to start telling me stuff like that- that was important you could've got badly hurt or- or worse" Ravi said, his breath picking up quickly. I could feel his hands shaking slightly on my shoulder and his words began to clump together.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and stepped closer to him, tilting his chin down to look at me.
"Hey hey hey Ravi, Ravi. It's okay alright? I'm sorry I didn't tell you. But it just seemed like everything was going back to normal and.. I didn't wanna ruin that. But im right here okay? I'm here now., That's all that matters. My hands are clean."
A tear rolled down Ravi's cheek as he looked me in my eyes- placing a hand on my face.
"I can't lose you. I can't."
"I know Ravi, I know. Your not gonna lose me anytime soon. Promise."
"Pinky promise?" He asked with a small sniffle,
"Pinky promise." I answered, waiting a few seconds before connecting our lips- to reassure him that I was still here, not gone- but here.
