Chapter 28

Chapter title: ice cream

Third person pov

Wet. M/N felt little wet spots on his cheeks. Dark. Everything was dark. Silent? No, not quite. There were still some noises around him that he could quite understand. Something stood out "wake up soon, love" 

Kyojuro

M/Ns hand twitched. He felt another hand grasping onto his own. Hi s eyes slowly opened, his vision was blurry so he had to blink a few times and rub his eyes. He wasn't even fully awake when he felt his body pulled into an extremely tight hug. "Ky-" M/N registered but got interrupted 

"Oh my beloved, how i was so nervous!" Kyojuro had tears in his eyes

"Aww, I'm fine Dear, there's no need for any tears." M/N rubbed his hand across Kyojuros cheek. Senjuro came over and joined in on the hug

"M/N! I was so worried! I was scared you weren't going to be ok!" Senjuro voiced

M/N smiled softly at his and gently stroked Senjuros hair with the hand that wasn't on Kyojuros cheek. "Thanks for worrying, Sen. I'm all good now though. How about we get out of this place?"

"Perfect!" M/N got out of the bed, Kyojuro linking hands with him and Senjuro clinging onto his other arm "I missed you, Love."

"I missed you too, Dear. How about we get some ice cream?" M/N offers

"Ice cream!" Senjuro cheered. Kyojuro sighed and agreed.

"Hey! You can't leave yet! We still need to run a few tests!" Aoi shouted. The Rengoku brothers and M/N looked at each other. They knew what to do. M/N put Senjuro on his back and sprinted out of there, Kyojuro running behind, laughing at the fun they were having. "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Aoi started to chase but in the end, gave up. 

"Lets let them be, I'm sure M/N is fine." Shinobu said from around the corner. Aoi gulped and nodded. She was happy Shinobu didn't get upset over Aoi losing one of her patients. 

M/N and the Rengokus escape was a success. "Giyuu filled us in on what happened. Are you doing alright?" 

"I'm fine. I'm fine." M/N brushed it off. They continued walking in a comfortable silence when M/N realized he didn't actually know where he was going. How was he supposed to bring that up now though? They've been walking for at least half an hour.should he just continue playing into it or completely utterly embarrass himself.

"Oh! Look over there!" Senjuro pointed a few blocks down from over M/Ns head

"Thank god." M/N whispered quiet enough for neither of them to hear

"Good, for a minute I was beginning to think M/N was lost!" Kyojuro laughed

"Seriously? You have such low hope in me!" M/N huffed. They walked closer to see that it was open. It was hot out today so it was the perfect weather for ice cream. They walked in and it was cold in there. The Rengokus shivered but M/N was pretty much unaffected. 

Senjuro knew what he wanted right away, he was eyeballing the strawberry ice cream the moment he saw the flavors. Strawberry has always been his favorite. M/N was looking at the different kinds. He hadn't had ice cream in a long time. He had it maybe once or twice with the Upper Moons but that's about it. He was looking at the rainbow sherbet. Sure it wasn't his favorite but it reminded him of one of his Otosans. The rainbow colors made him think of Douma and his beautiful rainbow eyes. M/N decided against it. He ended up choosing his F/F.Kyojuro decided on getting cherry again.  Because it was his idea, he went to pay even though Kyojuro was trying to as well. They were both trying to hand the money to the lady at the register "It was my idea!"

"But you're also paying for Senjuro!"

"He'll be my little brother soon too!"

"But he's not!"

"As your boyfriend, I'm saying I'll pay!"

"As your boyfriend, I'm saying that you're sick and I'll pay!"

"You ignoramus! Just split the bill!" Senjuro yelled over them. The poor lady at the counter seemed a little nervous even though she's had this kind of thing happen before. 

They had this look on their faces like they would have nevr thought of that "you genius!" M/N cheered and the two split the bill. They got their ice cream and left. 

"Lets go back to our estate." Kyojuro thought it'd be better if they made their way back so they could relax. The two of them hadn't been able to relax since M/N left and especially when he came back and found out he was poisoned. 

"Yeah, let's go." M/N agreed and they started heading back "Kyo, I haven't had cherry before, could I try some of yours?" 

"Only if I can have some of yours." Kyojuro winks

"Deal." M/N and Kyojro switched cones and tried each other's. They both believed they were very good "mmmm~ sooo Gooooood" 

"UMAI!" Kyojuro shouted, just like every other time he's been licking his ice cream. M/N chuckled, thinking about how cute Kyojuro was. They handed each other's back and shared a kiss

"I'm ready" M/N blurted out on accident. Both Senjuro and Kyojuro had no idea whatsoever M/N could be taking about. 

"Pardon?" Kyojuro asked for clarification

"I- nothing, don't worry about it." M/N stuttered out. 

"Ok" but Kyojuro did worry about it. That's was all he could think of on the way back to their estate. The words 'm ready' they had to mean some thing important, right? But what exactly could he mean by that? Kyojuro thought hard about their past conversations, going over what he might have said to get that response. Then he remembered the morning M/N left

"Youre all nice and clean now, want to take this a step further?"

"I'm not ready"

Is that what he meant? Did he change his mind? How does Kyojuro approach that though? What if M/N wasn't talking about advancing their relationship? What if he still wasn't ready for the extra step  and he was just talking about something else? "Senjuro, do you mind staying at Tengens place for a bit? I want a little bit of alone time with M/N" Kyojuro asked

Senjuro frowned "yeah"
