Qrow pov

I'm with Tai and Summer at Emerald Forest, by Beacon Academy. We're here because an old friend of ours contacted us to meet him here. My sister Raven was also supposed to be here but wasn't. What makes matters worse is that Tai and Summer brought the now six-month-old Yang with them. "Why did you two bring the baby," I asked them. "We couldn't find a sitter," Tai answered me with the worst excuse in the book while he and Summer had a smile, trying to play it off. So I shake my head and continue to wait.

A few hours passed when we heard a motorcycle coming our way. The rider stopped a few feet away when he turned off the engine, got off the bike, and took off his helmet, which was revealed to be no other than Duke. Duke walks towards us with a bag that looks like something to be used for carrying a baby on his back.

Duke stopped in front of us, "Tai, Qrow, Summer, it's great to see you guys again," Duke greeted us. Then Duke looked confused for some reason, "Where's Raven," Duke asked. Then Tai looked down sadly, "She left us, Duke," Tai responded. Duke looks shocked at it, "Sorry, Tai," Duke apologizes. "It's ok, Duke, you didn't know," Tai reassured Duke. "Duke, why did you call us here anyway," I asked Duke. Duke looked sad for some reason. He then unhooked the straps, then took the bag off his back. After he took the bag off, we saw a blanket covering something up. He then removed the blanket and revealed a baby boy's face. He can't be more than one year old.

To say we're shocked by this is an understatement. Summer is the first one to get out of the shock and look at Duke, "who's he," she asked. "His name is Casey, and he's my son," Duke responded. Then Tai jumped in, "Who's the mother," Tai asked. Duke looked even more saddened by this, "Gwen is the mother, but she's dead," Duke told us. "This is the reason I call you all here. I need you to look after Casey for me," Duke told us as he looked at his son with tears in his eyes. "Duke, what is this about," I asked him. Duke looked like he was about to cry, "The Circle is working with Salem, and if they know about Casey, they'll use him to get the Sword of Shadows," Duke explained. Ozpin once told us about Salem and Duke informing us about a group of rogue Shadowhunters known as the Circle. If they're working together, things will go from bad to worse. "Please say you'll watch over Casey," Duke pleaded with tears in his eyes. Tai then walked towards Duke and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Don't worry Duke, we'll make sure Casey is safe," Tai told Duke.

Duke was about to hand Casey to Tai when suddenly, the one-year-old started to cry. Duke immediately started to coo his son, "Shhhh, It's ok. Daddy's here. You're going to be taken care of by some good friends of mine," Duke said to his son. After Duke calmed his son down, he handed the kid to Tai. After Duke gave Tai the kid, Duke pulled out a wolf tooth necklace and put it on the kid's neck, "Be safe, my little Wolf, be strong and fight like a worrier," Duke told his son as he placed a kiss on the kid's head. Duke walked back to his bike with a painful look. He turns to look at his son once more as he mounts his bike and drives away.

We got back to Patch after the meeting. Tai put Yang to bed as Summer tried to calm the one-year-old since he hadn't stopped crying when we returned to Patch. "What do you think about all of this," Summer asked me. Honestly, I haven't got a single clue on how to think about this. "I don't know yet, Summer," I answered truthfully. With Salem and the Circle working together, we must be more alert than ever. Then Tai came back down, "Ok, I got Yang to sleep," he told us. "So what's the plan now," Tai asked. "I'm going back out to find answers while you two just take care of Casey," I told them. And with that, I head out to find answers that might help us protect Casey.

"That'll be 57 lien Casey," Tukson told the now 18-year-old Casey. Casey pulled out the lien and paid for the latest books that had just been released. "Thank Tukson, you're the best," Casey told his faunus friend. Tukson waved it off, "No need to thank me, kiddo; I'm just glad to see a young man like yourself enjoy a good book and to know that some humans are not racist," Tukson told Casey. "I still don't understand why people have to be racist towards faunus; you guys are cool with your animal features," Casey told Tukson. "You're too good for this world, kiddo," Tukson told Casey. Casey couldn't help but smile at the comment. "So, are you going to Beacon," Tukson asked, "Yeah, I am," Casey replied. Then Tukson went under the counter to get a present he had made for his young human friend.
