" " EARRINGS " "
YOU had left the estate soon after, wandering back down the path towards your estate.
The sun was directly in the sky, it being around twelve-thirty.
Your shoes pressed on the dirt pathway as the wind blows past you, messing up your h/c hair slightly.
Your shoes make a tapping sound on the wood as you walk up to the door, opening it only to blink in surprise at the sight infront of you.
Two uppermoons sat in your living room, one of them scowling at the other who simply smiled at continued fanning himself.
"What... are you two doing here?" You frown at the two, taking a few steps in and closing the door behind you.
The white-lime haired one immediately turns towards you, eyes lighting up.
"Y/n!" She exclaims, tackling you in the hug.
"...Daki.." You reply, raising an eyebrow at the demon.
"What are you doing here— and you as well." You turn to look at the rainbow-eyed who was waving at you.
"I came to visit you! But then the sun rose and I got stuck here.." Daki pouts before brightening up again suddenly, "But it's alright since I got to see you!"
"Why didn't you call for Nakime?" You ask the female demon.
"He was here!" She sends a glare at the other demon who simply smiled brighter at her, "And I didn't trust to leave him at your house, so I made she he didn't do anything!"
"Daki..." You sigh, shaking your head quietly.
"But now that you're here—" The other demon tries to say, but you don't even give him a chance to speak.
"Nakime." You call as you felt yourself falling for a moment, the hands around your stomach loosening.
You landed on the ground next to the biwa demon.
"Y/n.. and uppermoons two and six..." She mutters before turning towards you.
"Send them back to where they're supposed to be." You sigh, covering your ears to deafen the demon's complaints.
Nakime strummed her biwa twice as the two demon's infront of you disappear.
"Thanks." You give a small smile to Nakime as she looks down, seemingly flustered.
"What were they even...?"
"They got trapped at my estate since the sun rose." You answer before she can finish her question.
Her mouth forms an 'o' shape, nodding in acknowledgement.
"Hey, where's Kokushibo? He always seems to be disappearing." You roll your eyes slightly.
The demon was being mysterious as ever, disappearing and then re-appearing whenever he felt like it.
"...I'm unsure as well." She answers after a moment of thought.
"Hm." You acknowledge with a small nod at her words.
"..." Nakime seems to hesitate on something, "Y/n, it's your birthday soon, right?"
"Huh? Yeah, actually... I'm surprised you remembered." You blink at her. "But it's tomorrow, now that I'm thinking about it..."
"Of course I remembered..." She says before stringing her biwa again, a small black box appearing infront of you. "I wasn't sure what you wanted... but I see you wearing earrings fairly often."
You blink in surprise as you see two earrings in the box, one of them was a sun, the other was a moon. They were too short, nor too large.
"Ah... thank you.." You thank the biwa demon, staring at them in your hand for a second before setting them down again.
You raise your hands to your ears, taking off the earrings you currently had on and setting them down in the box next to the new earrings.
You put the sun and moon ones on as the ghost of a smile was shown at Nakime's face.
"You look pretty..." She compliments as the corners of your mouth twitch up.
"Thanks." You raise your hand, lightly patting her head.
She seems to relax completely under your touch as she tilts her head down a bit.

— After Daki was sent back to the entertainment district, she complained to her brother about the incident.
— Nakime denied that she had romantic feelings for Y/n at first, but eventually accepted it.
— Nakime wanted to give Y/n her present first, which is why she gave it the day before her birthday. Also so Y/n can wear the earrings on her birthday.
