The rooster didn't expect himself to be standing here again. Standing in the very spot his god had stabbed him in the back after a fit of delusional rage. He expected the woman to still be closed off, still screaming at people and giving the world a hateful frown. Yet what stood in front of him was an open book.

Akito Sohma was leaned against the open door, a small toddler perched on her hip, and a half assed attempt to look nice in front of her visitor. Yet her happiness to be alive and well was overwhelming, almost like meeting a different person.

"You better be glad Shigure isn't here. He would've strangled you for coming." The woman stepped aside to let him in, following the rooster to the built in living room. He couldn't help but to look around and see that this place was no longer empty. It used to be depressing and just hard to look at due to the darkness it held. Yet his god had grown. "The couch doesn't bite, dingus. Just take a seat while I find something in the fridge. Haven't found the motivation for shopping this week." With that, she set her son down next to him.

A son. His god had a son. He never would've imagined that the little girl he had promised to never leave years ago was a mother. Was she good to him? She had to be because the little boy was as healthy as ever.

The god had returned, passing a shitty plastic walmart cup of tea to him before picking up her son and cuddling him close. The shock of this scene shook him to his core. Never had he imagined his god growing up and finding joy in her life. After all she had seen and gone through, she grew up and lived to her fullest.

"Kureno? Why are you crying?" Her concerned face materialized through the tears of pride. Instinctively, he grabbed the sides of her face and connected their foreheads together as he smiled for the first time since he appeared on her doorstep.

"Thank you, thank you for finding yourself. For growing and coming out of your cocoon you sheltered in for so long." Thank you..
