~ Eight Months Until Tour ~
--
I stepped out of my home gym, dripping with sweat as my damp tank top stuck to my skin. I haven't been able to sit still for longer than ten minutes since I found out the news about the tour. I pushed myself hard today, trying to get my body ready for the physical demands that those few months will require. We all have been training as much as possible, and tomorrow I have a breathing trainer coming over to the house later to help with my lung capacity.
"I'm beat." Breaker said as he followed behind me, entering the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of water.
"Same." I replied, following his actions and grabbing my own bottle, drinking almost half in one go. "Have y'all decided what the family is going to do when we're on tour?"
"Yeah, the missus and little Remi girl are going to join us in the first half, then they're going to head home so Remi can start school."
"That makes sense." I said as a sly smirk made its way on my face, making Breaker narrow his eyes. "That could have been us, ya know?"
"Oh, would you shut up?" He said, grabbing the dish rag next to him and throwing it at my face, making me break out in laughter.
When we first started the band, and I was over at Breaker, Carter, and Sam's apartment practically every night writing songs or practicing what we had, Breaker made a move to kiss me one night. He found out very quickly why that would never happen because I was very devoted to being a lesbian. His wife, Kara, and I tease him all the time about it.
"Will you ever let me live that down?"
"Not a chance, buddy." I shot back with a wink making him groan.
Breaker stayed a little while longer, showing me his ideas for the stage setup and where everyone will be positioned. I got super excited when I saw there was a trap door in the center stage where I would enter each night to start the shows. He was really good at this shit and coming up with the logistics for everything, too, and making sure everyone would shine in their own rights.
After he left, I grabbed my phone and hooked it up to the speakers in the shower. One of the best things I ever did in this house was put bluetooth speakers literally everywhere so I always had music whenever I wanted it.
I set the temperature to a fairly hot level, started my shower playlist and got in before starting to have my own solo concert as the water from the rain shower ran down my face and body. However, I was rudely interrupted by the sound of my phone's call ringtone. I went over to the protected touch screen built into the wall of the shower and noticed it was Benjamin. Sighing and deciding he could wait for the privilege to talk to me, I declined the call and continued my sold out rain concert.
A song later, I was hunched over shaving my legs when the damn phone started ringing again. "Ugh, shut up!" I said as I declined Montoya's call again. This was probably pissing him off, but shower time was me time. I wasn't letting him ruin that.
I finished up, turning the water off and wrapping my hair and body in towels when my phone started ringing again. Grabbing the device off of the kitchen counter rather harshly, I answered with an annoyed tone.
"Jesus, what do you want Montoya?"
"Oh, so you did see my other calls. Thanks for confirming." He shot back just as annoyed as I was. Maybe even more, honestly.
"Out with it."
"Your openers are here to meet you. Get your ass to the office." He said as he hung up. Damn, this man and hanging up on me, I swear.
