Poem: Future

Lovers' light shines
Lighting my dark lonely path.
I should've listened to my friends.

You don't want me,
You never did.
My delusions told me otherwise
And I obeyed their dark desires.

We weren't meant to be
And you moved on
While I was still stuck in time
Trying to fix this.
We weren't meant to be but I tried
And you left with someone else.

I've decided to take time to move on
Not fake it like the week prior
But to genuinely move on.
Hopefully, I'll learn to forgive the both of us
For our mistakes in the past.

I hope our futures never cross paths
And that we'll both be happy.
I wish you nothing but the best.
