*Flashback - 1844 Days After The Incident*

"What am I supposed to do?" Waverly asked the werewolf standing before her.

She and Willow were huddled up in the infirmary.

They had been there for hours, trying to find a way to remove the shield Waverly had put over Wyatt.

The other wolves believed it was healing him, but even if it was, it would do nothing beneficial if she was unable to get rid of it.

"It's been three days, everyone keeps asking me questions and I don't know what I'm supposed to say."

Willow huffed out a sigh, stuffing medical supplies into a somewhat large navy blue bag.

The pack had recently raided a hospital outside of town for additional supplies.

"I don't know," She muttered. "Maybe you should finally tell Willa the truth."

"You know I can't do that." Waverly breathed out, running a hand through her hair. "I'm not like the rest of you, if I tell Willa I can't fix Wyatt, she'll kill me."

"Well, she's going to find out," The werewolf went on, turning to face her. "Eventually."

"Not if I find a way to fix this."

Willow frowned at her answer, pulling the strap of the bag over her right shoulder.

"You're just delaying the inevitable," She continued. "Willa is soon going to realize that you can't save him."

Waverly sucked in a breath, attempting to calm herself.

"I know...and I can't let Wyatt die."

*End of Flashback - Present Time*

The bullet struck him in the ribcage, shattering his bones like glass.

Waverly fell back, her eyes wide in disbelief.

"N—No!" She gasped, scrambling up onto her knees.

William cried out as he hit the ground, clutching his stomach in immense pain.

The shapeshifter reacted fast, hurling herself forward.

She slid a hand onto his shoulder, careful not to injure him more, and gently turned him over.

The bullet had gone straight through his abdomen.

Black blood began to seep through shirt.

Waverly blew out a shaky breath and pressed both of her hands over the wound, feeling the warmth of his blood gushing between her fingers.

William grunted, thrusting his body upward in an attempt to minimize the agony.

Waverly stared down at him with wide, tear-filled eyes.

"Why would you do that?" She whispered, holding her breath.

"B—Because." He choked, practically coughing up blood.

It filled his mouth as he tried to speak.

Their eyes met.

"You didn't deserve it."
