Waverly knew this wasn't going to end well, but maybe if she convinced herself it would—it would probably still end badly. She would feel his sudden wave of anxiety as she started to summon her power.

Energy fluctuated throughout the air around them, spinning in unruly directions. Waverly closed her eyes to try and focus it. Maybe if she didn't see the fire, it wouldn't stress her out as much...maybe.

Once she got a handle on the invisible waves, the werewolf squeezed her hands into tight fists. A sudden image of the forest popped up in her mind.

She was taken back by it. Waverly could see the tips of the trees as if she was staring down at the forest from up in the air. How was this possible?

"It's not working!" Willa announced, startling her.

Suddenly, the scent of smoke hit her nose. How, all Waverly could think about was the incident. She felt power explode from her body, spiraling out in crazy amounts of force. Her eyes snapped open.

"Yes!" Wyatt shouted.

Shockwaves of air hit the flames before them, sending them crashing down. Waverly did her best to focus herself, but her insides felt like they were melting as she was reminded of her family.

Soon, the fire began to diminish and Wyatt was practically jumping up and down with excitement. Waverly felt her powers dying down.

"I'm losing it!" Waverly cried out, watching the flames start to grow again.

"Shit." Willa seethed.

Wyatt ran over to her. His eyes were glowing a bright neon yellow as he watched the wildfire attack their home.

"I know you can do it," He said quietly, sliding his hand onto her forearm. "Just focus on me."

Waverly felt her entire body tense as his hand brushed against her skin. Her eyes flashed with color once she turned to him, making their yellow and blue irises clash.

He moved his hand down to her own, interlacing their fingers. Almost instantly, power burst from her body. The rest of the flames were put out immediately.

Waverly was still staring into his eyes once the fire was gone. Neither of them wanted to break the connection.

"Good job." Willa put forth, snapping them back into reality.

Wyatt pulled away first, moving his hand away from hers. "Yeah, you did great."

Waverly shook her head.

"We did great."

*End Of Flashback - Present Time*

Willa waited for the shapeshifters answer, but it never came. Instead, Waverly got up and shifted her gaze over to where Wyatt was lying in the dirt.

He hadn't moved since she went over to check on his sister, but she didn't buy the act. William never had a problem dodging her energy blasts—even though this one was much larger and...bright blue—why wouldn't Wyatt be able to?

"Hey," Waverly announced, loud enough for a sleeping person to hear. "Get up."

Wyatt's eyes opened and he let out a long sigh. Clearly, he thought he would be able to get away with it and catch her by surprise.

"Damn," Wyatt mumbled, sitting up eerily. "I didn't think you'd catch me."

"Let's just get this over with." The shapeshifter seethed, clearing out her her throat.
