WARNING: Someone tries to commit murder, blood, some violence
*********
You awoke to the birds singing, the sun showing it's colors through the semi-translucent curtains. You got up and stretched, feeling the satisfying POP-ing as you yawned. Wiping away the tears as you stumbled towards the bathroom you almost stepped on your furry companion, moving out of the way in time before causing harm to them and ultimately falling face first into your carpet. Feeling a sudden weight on your back as they climbed on top of you, spinning in a couple circles before laying down on your back. You sighed, reaching behind you as best as you could to give them a couple scratches.

You flipped the sign on your door around, seeing the big red 'CLOSED' facing the inside of your little store. Watering the plants both inside and outside the store. The more common herbs and spices were either outside or near the front of the store. The less common, mostly bought by either doctors or sketchy people with good money, were at the back to not be stolen easily. You were packing a bag for a doctor, making a request a week prior that he was running low on certain herbs and spices. The green bag had a little green sprout planted onto it to show it was reusable, and that it came from your store. You stopped as the bell rang, taking off your gear and walking out.

Walking to the back and grabbing your watering can, you went out to the front, watering all the different plants, most just being spices and herbs. You stopped, staring at the empty space where your dragon tailed snappers were supposed to be. You looked around, no where. The alleyways, no where. Behind the store, no where. You checked everywhere, opening the lid of a random barrel and peering in, pausing as you watched a family of mice wearing human-like clothes before closing the lid. You huffed as you walked back inside, re-emerging with clothes better suited for the forest.

You turned the 'OPEN' sign over and locked the door, making your way to the forest to hopefully find more dragon tailed snappers. The ground getting more and more muddy as you walked, grass turning greener with the smell of mildew in the air. You took a deep breath, smiling at the familiar area before walking deeper into the forest. You came across the waterfall, dragon tailed snappers surrounded the the area. You walked beside the riverbank, carefully not to fall in but just enough to lose balance every so often. The mist from the waterfall made at hard to see, but you've done this plenty of times and knew what you were doing.

Taking out a garden towel and jar you carefully dug up a couple, making sure the soil was damp as you put it in the jar. Only taking a couple as the jar was small and you didn't want to ruin the wide life look. You set off after putting the open jar full of damp soil and dragon tailed snappers in your bag, the snappers popping out in all their red glory. You walked around the river bank picking up small stones and tossing them into the water, making splashes at yourself. The sudden tumble into the water surprised you, quickly getting up and checking on the snappers. They were fine- and the jar- as you calmed down, looking down at yourself as you started to laugh.

You took off the bag and placed it safe on land, taking off your boots and rolling up your pant legs, planning to have just a little time to your self. Rolling your pants up did nothing as you managed to get almost the entirety of them wet, shrugging it off as you picked up stones from the bottom of the river. "Why hello there, mister!" A voice startled you, turning around and facing someone with abnormally bright red hair, "It's not safe here, you know." He propped his head up, "Why not?" Someone coming out to the middle of no where can't just tell you that, you've been here plenty of times! "Well, it's hunting season, and you know what happens in hunting season."

The clothes he wore told you he definitely lived in the forest; a bear pelt around his shoulders, snake skin around his right arm, and what looks like badger skin as a belt. If anything, he looked like a hunter. You hummed, getting out of the water and rolling your pant legs down before you grabbed your shoes and stuffed them beside the jar. "Well, I better be off. Talk later, yeah?" You had no idea if you would, but the confusion on his face was funny to see.

You walked out of the store, locking it as you secured the heavy basket in your arms and made your way to the forest. It's only been a week since you've last gone, running out of some herbs and using it as an excuse in case someone asks why you were leaving again so soon. The dirt road slowly turned to stone, the stone turning into grass. The sun was shadowed by the massive trees, blocking out the heat for your comfort. You heard a twig snap to your left, looking over as all fell silent. The bushes rustled before a giant brown bear barged through, tearing the bushes apart as it growled at you. You jumped back before reaching into the basket and pulled out a jar of honey, setting it on the ground before slowly backing away.

The bear stared at you before stalking up to the jar, sniffing it before sitting down, taking it in his paw and opening the jar and licking the inside. 'Bears can do that...?' You thought to yourself as you stared at it, wondering if you could walk away now, not wanting to be rude to the bear if it should want you to stick around. You sat down, deciding to keep it company as it finished the jar of honey and setting the jar down. You stared at each other before the bear made a shooing motion with it's paw, "Uh, I need the jar back, sooo," The bear huffed, "Oh, yeah, definitely." You got up and walked away.

Tying up your boots for another adventure into the woods you grabbed your basket filled with sandwiches and fruits, closing and locking the door to the shop you made your way out. With a little hop in your step you made your way to the forest, hoping to have a nice little picnic near the waterfall. The all was peaceful, the birds chirping a happy tune as you smelled the fresh air. The sound of a gun shot silenced everything, the basket you were carrying dropped to the ground as you ran in the direction of the it. You tripped and scraped your knee, ignoring the pain as you ran into a man holding a shotgun, pointing it at the familiar bloody bear hide that was covering the man.

You picked up a stray stick, having only a little trouble with the adrenaline flowing through your veins, running at the man and giving a quick THACK to his head. He fell to the ground with a shout, holding his head in pain as the gun fell from his hands. You quickly discarded the stick and picked up the gun, pointing it at the man, "What are you doing here?" You demanded, "Who the bloody hell are you?!" He shouted, "Why did you hurt him?" You held the gun as tight as you could, "'Im? 'Cause he's a monsta'." You shot, the bark of the tree sizzling as it fell off. You stepped on his chest pushing him more into the ground as he stared into your eyes with fear. "Why. Are. You. Here?"

You took aim, "Wait! Please! I'll leave! I'll leave 'n' neva' come back!" You stepped off his chest, "Go." You got close enough to feel his breath on your face, "And if I ever see you again, I won't hesitate, bitch." You got up as he quickly backed away before getting up and running into a tree, recovering quickly and running away. You turned to the man behind you, staring at you with wide, red eyes. You crouched in front of him, "Where are you hurt?" He grunted as he moved his bear hide, showing the bullet wound in his lower abdomen. You quickly helped him up, his arm over your shoulders and your hand on his waist, "My place is west, not too far."

It wasn't that far, only a five minute agony and blood filled walk across the river (unfortunately not near the waterfall). You came to a small shack covered in forest greens, vines basically covering the door. You leaned the man against the wall as you opened the door, helping him in and onto the couch. His shack was surprisingly neat, the plants just adding charm. "The first aid is in the covered, second to your left." He grunted, throwing his head back into the cushions. You grabbed the kit and rushed to his side, taking the tweezers out, "Whatever I do, you need to breath, deep. Okay?" He nodded, you mumbling a quick apology as you started.

You washed your hands in the sink, surprised yet again by this mans living condition. "Built myself, heh." He chuckled to him self from the couch, voice strained. "You never did tell me your name, bear. What is it?" You turned around with a soft smile, glass of water in hand as you saw the surprised look on his face. "Wh- uh- I don't know what you're talking about." He chugged the water, "Please, bears don't have red eyes. And besides, I know a lot about forest creatures, forest changers aren't anything new to me." You waved off his confusion, "Tendō Satori, and you?" He let out a small smile, "(L/N) (Y/N), at your service."
