SHE LOVES ME, SHE LOVES ME NOTchapter thirteen | moronic death

SHE knew it was stupid. As she stormed out of the house, dragging a suitcase from the Goodwill with her. She had no money, no car, nothing.
She would never be anything, as her eldest brother so kindly told her just minutes before. Daryl, who stood in the middle of the two siblings, tried to play the mediator, but failed miserably.
She was leaving.
And somehow, watching his little sister, and best friend, leave their home had caused a large hole in his chest. He felt a heavy weight consume him as he watched her grip the faded pink suitcase and walk out.
Daryl immediately rushed out after her. "You can't leave!" He shouted.
"Fucking watch me! I refuse to be around a bunch of controlling pricks for the rest of my damn life!"
Daryl let out a huff of frustration. "You're so fucking impossible! You can't leave me!"
Sadie wiped the few tears that had traveled their down her, now bright red, cheeks. "I can't leave you if you were the one who left first."
With that, Sadie watched as her friend Caroline pulled into the driveway. The young girl threw her bag in the trunk, giving one last look to her brother.
"Tell Merle I said he can go fuck himself." Was the last thing she said before driving off into the early morning sunrise.
NOW
SADIE reminisced the day she left her brothers behind in their childhood home. She hadn't ever regretted the action. In fact, Sadie might not have ever went to college if she would have stuck around her father and brothers.
She was proud of her profession, but her heart was never in it. It paid the bills and kept her mind busy off of her own issues. The abuse from their father, skipping town the day she turned eighteen, and then there was every bad moment from when she moved to Atlanta and when she met Carter.
She became dependent on the man, relishing in the life they made for themselves.
But now? Now she craved independence. She could take care of herself. This new world had given her the chance to do that.
"Hey," She heard a low whisper step up onto the RV. "You can head down if you want. I'll take over watch."
Rick made a move to sit in the chair next to Sadie. She let out a heavy breathe, looking over at him. "Sorry you had a shitty day."
He shrugged.
What Sadie was referring to, was Sophia Pelletier. The girl who had gotten lost amongst the tree's. Rick had run after her, but ultimately, she was no where to be found.
Sophia held a special place in Sadie's heart, as did Carol, which meant she hoped that she was found sooner rather than later.
Rick began to chuckle lightly, "You know what really bothered me?"
