And so Jack and Evelina ended up together as a couple. Eventually Jack actually proposed to Evelina who said yes. They announced the news to John and Rose and Lorelai. Rose had given birth to a beautiful baby girl who they named Gabriella Anne Smith. John, Rose, and Lorelai helped Jack and Evelina plan the wedding. Rose led Evelina into her old room and opened the closet and pulled out a trunk and opened the trunk and said: "here. I wore this when I married John. It was my Mom's. I want you to wear it on your wedding day." Evelina lifted the dress out of the trunk and said: "Rose, it's beautiful. And in pristine condition." Rose laughed and said: "try it on. John and Lorelai have Jack busy. Besides, Jack knows better than to come in here. He tried that once and got a book thrown at him followed by me punching him. John had to intervene before I punched Jack to death." Evelina said: "what if it doesn't fit?" Rose said: "then I can make adjustments. I worked in a clothes shop before I worked at a hospital. I did a lot of sewing. Now go try it on." Then Evelina went in the bathroom and changed into the gown. She zipped the zipper up in back and walked out of the bathroom and said: "Rose." Rose looked up and said: "how does it fit?" Evelina said: "it's a bit loose on me. I'm kinda concerned about the skirt. I'm worried that I'll trip over it." Rose grabbed her sewing kit and opened it and said: "right. Stand still. And hold your arms up. I don't want to jab you with the needle." Then Rose grabbed a needle and some thread and threaded the needle and cut the thread. Then Rose tied the thread off and set to work making adjustments to the dress, starting with taking it in. She did a bit of tucking and stitching on both sides. Then Rose cut the thread and threw the excess away. Rose said: "you can put your arms down now. Next, I'm going to make adjustments to the skirt." Then Rose pulled a stool over and said: "I need you to stand on this while I work." Evelina hitched up the skirt and climbed up onto the stool and dropped the skirt. Rose grabbed some thread and threaded the needle and cut the thread and tied the thread off and set to work on the skirt. Rose smiled and said: "you know, my Mom did the same thing I'm doing right now when I tried the dress on. It was a bit big on me too." Rose continued working on the dress. Finally she said: "there. Done. You can step down now." Then Evelina stepped down off the stool. Rose said: "how does it fit now?" Evelina said: "perfect. Thank you, Rose. And I love the adjustments. It reminds me of Belle's gown in "Beauty And The Beast". Uh, do you have shoes to go with the dress?" Rose smiled and reached into the trunk and pulled out a pair of white high heels and said: "try these on." Evelina took off her current shoes and put the white high heels on. She said: "they fit perfectly. Thanks." Rose smiled and said: "I'm glad. Unfortunately, the veil is history. But I can make a new one. You should take the dress off for right now until the day of the wedding. Same with the shoes. Have you ever worn high heels before?" Evelina said: "yes, I have. I'm used to walking in high heels. Can you help me unzip?" Rose unzipped the dress. Then Evelina walked into the bathroom and changed out of the dress and back into her other clothes. Then Evelina handed the dress to Rose who hung it on a hanger. She took off the high heels and handed them to Rose who put them with the dress. Then Evelina left the room. Then Rose reached into the trunk and pulled out rolls of lace and tulle and set them on the bed. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Rose said: "come in." The door opened and John came in and closed the door behind him and said: "hey. Mind if I join you?" Rose smiled and said: "sure. Take a seat. Just not on the bed or the desk. I'm probably going to be up all night. I'm working on the veil part of  Evelina's dress. I'm letting her wear my old wedding dress. I had to make a few adjustments to the dress. But I'm pleased with my handiwork." John sat down on the stool and said: "Lorelai currently has Jack engaged in a chess battle. Guess who's winning?" Rose smiled and said: "Lorelai?" John said: "yep. I didn't even know that she knew how to play chess. I know how to play chess. I played chess with her and she beat me. Jack apparently met his match when it comes to chess." Rose smiled and said: "not surprised." John said: "Rose, Jack told me something earlier. At first I just chalked it up to nerves. But now I'm not so sure." Rose said: "oh?" She was grabbing the veil fixture from the trunk. John said: "he was talking warp speed. That's usually my thing. He kept repeating over and over. But I can't make heads or tails out of it to save my life." Rose said: "tell me what he said. Maybe I can help figure it out." She was sewing the tulle and lace to the veil fixture after cutting it to a reasonable length. Then John told her. Rose listened as she sewed. She said: "Jack is uncertain. So were you. Men are like that when they are about to get married. I'll talk to him later."
