Finally the day of the wedding arrived. Rose helped Evelina get ready. Lorelai said: "you look like a princess." Evelina laughed and said: "I suppose I do, don't I?" Just then there was a frantic knock on the door. Rose said: " Lorelai, can you get that please?" Lorelai hopped down and said cheerfully: "sure!" Then Lorelai walked over and opened the door and said cheerfully: "Hi Dad! Come on in." John walked in and closed the door behind him. Lorelai hopped up onto her perch. Rose looked up and said: "John, what's wrong? I haven't seen you look this frantic since the time where we almost lost Lorelai." John was pacing. The three ladies watched him. Finally Lorelai hopped down directly on top of John. John was knocked down by the force of Lorelai's landing. Lorelai rolled off him and said: "Dad, your pacing was making me dizzy. Sorry. But I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have listened if we told you to stop pacing. So I had to get you to stop pacing. So, what's wrong?" John said: "Rose, can I talk to you alone please?" Rose said: "sure. Lorelai, take over for me while I'm gone." Lorelai climbed to her feet and brushed her dress off and switched places with Rose. John stood and walked out with Rose. They walked into the console room. Rose's high heels click clacked against the floor. She wore a gold strapless floor length dress with multiple skirts under it. The gown had a gold lace overskirt. Over it, she wore a gold shawl. John turned to face her and said: "Rose, I don't know how to dance. Particularly ballroom dance." Rose smiled softly and said: "well, I do. I figure we have some time before we arrive at our destination. Plenty of time for me to teach you how to ballroom dance. TARDIS, put some music on." The TARDIS started playing music. Specifically "can I have this dance" from High School Musical 3. Rose sang along. They moved in time to the song. John got the hang of it after a while. Lorelai answered her phone and said cheerfully: "Hi Dad. What's up?" John smirked and said: "bring your phone and meet us at Jack's room. It's going to be interesting." Lorelai rolled her eyes and said: "is Uncle Jack being a prat again?" John smirked and said: "yep. He's about to call off the wedding." Lorelai exclaimed: "what?! Oh no he isn't! I'm going to march over there and give him hell myself!" John smirked and said: "between you and your Mom, he should be thoroughly chastised. I can't wait to see this." Then Lorelai hung up and stuck her phone in a hidden pocket of her dress and grabbed her shawl and threw it about her and fastened the clasp and looked at Evelina and said: "stay here. I have to knock some sense into that prat of an Uncle of mine. He's so going to hear it from me. Because I'm not going to let him ruin your wedding day. Not a chance. I'm going to march over there and give him hell. And don't bother correcting my language." Then Lorelai marched out of the room and shut the door behind her and hitched up her skirts and ran over to Jack's room. She arrived at the same time John and Rose did. John said: "wow. You two could pass for twins. You look exactly alike. Even down to the red hair and gold dress and shawl and shoes." Rose and Lorelai looked at each other and smirked at each other. Lorelai said: "come on. Let's go knock some sense into that prat Uncle of mine." John said: "where'd you pick up the colorful metaphors?" Lorelai said: "believe me, you don't want to know. Now, let's go. He's not going to call off the wedding if we have anything to say about it. No way." Then Lorelai kicked down Jack's door and walked in followed by Rose and John. She said: "the benefit of working out." John grabbed his phone and started filming. Lorelai said firmly: "Uncle Jack, you are being a prat! You can't just ruin Evelina's wedding day because you are a coward! You're running away from this! Like a coward! Evelina has been looking forward to this day since the day you freaking proposed to her! I won't let you ruin Evelina's wedding day like this! No way!" Then Lorelai slapped Jack hard. Then Lorelai walked over to John. Then Rose said firmly: "Jack, you are being a coward! Only a coward runs away from this! Be a man and be there for your own freaking wedding! If you think Evelina can't handle Torchwood, then you are sorely wrong! She can handle anything she puts her mind to! Now get the hell out there and marry her!" Then Rose slapped him extremely hard. Lorelai winced and said: "did I just see what I think I just saw?" John said: "yep. I'll explain later. Let's just say that I've been on the receiving end of that slap more than once. It hurts like hell. Your Mom and Grandmother are both very scary when they're angry." Lorelai said: "ah. So, should I be on the lookout for Mom's scary side?" John said: "yep. Lorelai looked at him and said: "Dad, I've seen the way he looks at Evelina. There's nothing but love there. Like what you and Mom have. Because hell, it might be. That's why I live each day to the fullest. You never know when you'll reach the end of your regenerations and die permanently. When that happens, I want to die knowing that I lived each day to the fullest and made happy memories." John looked at her and said: "I still can't believe you beat him at chess." Lorelai said: "what do you think I did to keep my sanity while I was at the orphanage?" John said: "ah. Now I know why you're a chess expert." Lorelai said: "I'm glad that Grandma runs the orphanage now." John said: "yeah. Me too." Lorelai looked at him and said curiously: "okay, what's on your mind?" John stopped filming and looked at her and said: "let's go in the console room. Please, promise me you won't laugh at me." Lorelai quickly took his hands in hers and said: "Dad, I would never laugh at you. Honest." Then John and Lorelai walked out of Jack's room and walked to the console room and walked in. Lorelai sat down on one of the chairs and pulled him down beside her and said gently: "Dad, what's on your mind?" John said: "I don't know. Have you ever felt like something bad is going to happen but you don't know when?" Lorelai said gently: "I've had those feelings, yes." John said: "I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen but I don't know when." Lorelai said gently: "when that happens, I go to the gym room and ponder it while doing some serious kickboxing. It helps." John smiled gratefully.
