5 - Alpha Soto. 2404 words

Thomas headed to his father's office. He knocked on the large wooden door. "Enter," his father answered. He looked up to see his son. He smiled. "What can I do for you Thomas?"

"I want to find the pack that hurt Hope. The council needs to be aware of their treatment of their pack members. What I really want is to kill the person who convinced her she was just a toy and mistreated my mate. I want to kill him."

His father understood his son's feelings. "Until she can give us more information about her old pack, I do not know which pack to investigate. Where is she now?"

"She hurt her ankle. The doctor gave her medicine for the pain that made her sleepy. She is taking a nap. Father, she is my mate. I know she is not a virgin, but she was raped. I will accept her as my mate."

Alpha Soto turned to his son, " I understand. Does she know she is the future Luna? Is she strong enough to be the future Luna?"

Thomas looked at his father with wide eyes. "Are you telling me to reject her?"

"No, my son. I am asking you to realize that she needs to be strong enough to be Luna. We have the largest pack on this continent. She must be strong enough for the pack. We need to help her to find her wolf."

"She will be a great Luna. We must give her time. She is a strong woman to survive this long," Thomas responded.

"I have started processing the paperwork to make her a member of our pack per your mother's request. The pack bond should help her get stronger. Also, she was never sent to school so I am setting up tutors for her so she can learn about werewolf history and other subjects she needs to know as a Luna. So you see son, I am not asking you to reject her. "

Thomas asked, "What do I do?"

With concern in his eyes, Alpha Soto advised, "Be patient. Be supportive. Dr. Maxon said it will take time before she understands that she deserves your love. Continue with your duties and your training. Let her join you with your duties. When she is ready she will join your mother and learn the duties of a Luna. Until then, let her feel your love even though she does not understand what she is feeling. Time will help her heal."

"I will consider your advice. Thank-you father."

As Thomas was about to leave, his father asked, "Have you told Yifa that you found your mate?"

He was so happy that he found Hope that he forgot about Yifa. He turned to his father. "I haven't told anyone. I have been taking care of Hope."

"You should tell Yifa before we tell the pack." He nodded. Yifa was not going to take this well.

Alpha Soto put down his pen and rubbed his eyes. He already sent trackers to try to follow her sent back to her old pack. Unfortunately, her scent faded the farther the trackers go from the pack. According to the trackers, she traveled a long distance. The moon goddess sent Hope to her mate.

Luna Alex knocked once before entering the office. She placed a cup of herbal tea on the desk. "I would have brought coffee, but I could feel your anxiety. It's about Hope, isn't it?"

"Our son wants revenge for his mate. I want justice for his mate, and any others in her old pack that were treated like Hope. I cannot go to the council to replace the Alpha of her old pack without more information."

Alex put her fingers in her husband's hair. He put his head in the crook of her neck and took deep breaths. Her scent always relaxes him. "You have fallen behind in your paperwork. " She took some files and started working on the paperwork with her husband. She brought a smile to his eyes. He picked up the next folder. It was about creating an alliance with a pack halfway across the country. He would have to send his Delta to this pack to investigate their circumstances before agreeing to an alliance.
