That afternoon Alpha Soto, Beta Dolph, and Delta Zeeb meet for a private meeting. Alpha Soto vaguely remembers Hope saying something about personal servants. But none of the omegas are toys. He grunts.
"First, other than the one personal servant and the scared female wolf, nothing is out of the ordinary. For all we know the hierarchy in this pack may just be different from ours. Their Alpha uses fear to control his pack. Second, the treatment of the omegas in this pack is unacceptable. Omegas are pack members. They should have the same access to medical and other benefits as the other pack members do. Third, on a personal note, I don't feel it is safe to leave Ziffa here with her mate. Perhaps Ocuna will agree to transfer to our pack.
Fourth, do any of us see a positive outcome to an alliance with this pack?

Beta Dolph responded, "When I brought the omega to the hospital for treatment, she was given minimal treatment. The nurses would not get her a doctor until I ordered it. The nurses looked petrified to treat her. The doctor appeared disgusted that she had to touch her. In addition, I have been scoping the pack grounds. All the females here are second class citizens. The omegas are simply treated the worst. If Ziffa chooses to remain here with her mate, she will be reduced to a second class citizen. Since she was almost the chosen luna in our pack, she would not be able to tolerate beinga second class citizen."

Delta Zeeb contributed, "I agree. The females, especially the omegas are not considered valuable in this pack. However, when Ziffa was upset during breakfast, Ocuna did defend her. He may not be of the same mindset as his father. Maybe he would transfer to our pack in order to keep his mate happy."

Alpha Soto brought the meeting back to the alliance between the packs. "I do not see any value to having an alliance with this pack. But I do believe this may be the pack Hope might have come from."

Beta Dolph nodded. "We should explain that we need more time to evaluate a possible alliance. Then we can make an unannounced visit. We could find out what this pack is hiding."

Alpha Soto, Beta Dolph, and Delta Zeeb agreed on this strategy. Delta Zeeb stood up, "I am going to check on Ziffa. She been anxious since the episode at breakfast. "

Alpha Soto, "Yes, I am sure Ziffa could use some comfort," he smirked. Delta Zeeb left the room.

"Am I missing something?" Beta Dolph asked. "Zeeb seems more concerned about Ziffa than I would have expected."

Alpha Soto agreed. "I think if Ziffa did not find her mate, Delta Zeeb may have courted her to become his chosen mate. It must have been difficult for him to defend Ocuna. Let's set a time for the Alliance Meeting. I want to go home. I miss my mate."

"I bet she misses you too," Beta Dolph smiled.

Delta Zeeb reaches Ziffa's room. "How is she doing?" Zeeb asked the two guards.

"Ocuna was here. He didn't stay long. He looked upset when he left." The guard answered

"He left without her?" Zeeb asked.

The other guard nodded. Zeeb knocked on Ziffa's door. "Go away. I don't want company," Ziffa shouted thru the door.

Delta Zeeb mind-linked Ziffa. "It's me. I will leave if that's what you really want." The door slowly opened. "May I come in?" Ziffa stepped the side and waved Zeeb in. "What's wrong Ziffa?"
Delta Zeeb sat on the couch next to Ziffa. He noticed her eyes were red and swollen. "Talk to me. Why are you crying?"

"I don't know what to do," she cried. "Ocuna is attentive, kind, and sweet. But sometimes he is overbearing. He is supposed to be my mate. But I don't love him," her teary eyes looked at Delta Zeeb. "When you found your mate, did you question your mate connection?"
