Luna Otsana stood up when all her guests were finished eating. "I hope you enjoyed dinner. You are welcome to use our gym, movie room, or walk around the pack. If there is anything you want, please let me know."

"Dinner was delicious. Thank-you Luna. Perhaps, we will take a walk and get some fresh air," Alpha Soto nodded.

"Yiffa, would you like to get a shawl before we take our stroll?" Ocun inquired.

Yiffa was not eager to go on the stroll. She headed to her room, and retrieved a shawl. Ocuna was at the foot of the steps waiting for her. He put out his hand to escorted her out of the packhouse. Yiffa acted like she did not see his hand. A guard walked a discreet distance behind them.

"You are a beautiful woman," Ocuns complimented Yiffa. "I am a very lucky man." Ocuna was smiling.

"Thank-you!" Yiffa shrugged. He pointed Yiffa towards the garden.

"What is wrong Yiffa? Did you not come to find your mate?" Ocuna became concerned.

"I am sorry. You appear to be a wonderful man, Ocuna. I was just surprised to find you. Tell me about yourself. "

"I am the youngest child of Alpha Jacob and Luna Otsana. I am the first of my siblings to find my mate, a gorgeous mate. I am the head warrior. Our Beta does not have sons so I will be the Beta when my brother becomes the Alpha. What about you?" They were walking side by side. He wanted to kiss her but she was so reserved.

"I am an only child. I was the chosen mate to our future Alpha but he found his mate so he decided to assist me to find my mate. I am a teacher." Yiffa was looking at the ground.

Ocuna looked sad. "So you were not really looking for your true mate?"

"No, but he said he wanted me to be as happy as he is. He said my true mate could give me happiness that he never could." Yiffa was still looking at the ground. They has reached a bench in the garden. Ocuna offered her a seat.

He grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes. He could feel the sparks go all the way up his arms. She had deep blue eyes that he could stare into forever. "I wasn't looking for my mate either. But now that you are here, I cannot imagine life without you. I will do my best to make you happy for the rest of your life," Ocuna vowed.

Yiffa felt the sparks too. She looked up into his green eyes. They were beautiful. She was still mourning the loss of Thomas' love. More than that she was upset about losing the position of Luna. Now she would only be a Beta's wife.

"We are mates. We should spend some time together before making a decision."

Ocuna was taken aback. He decided to be patient and give her some time. "Of course. You are my mate. I want you to love me too. We can spend a few days to know each other." He slid his arm around her shoulder. He started pointing out all the different star clusters. He pointed out Nebula and explained that she was the star of love. As they headed back to the packhouse he picked a singled red rose 🌹 in the garden, and gave it to Yiffa. She smiled. The guard following them smirked.

Ocuna assisted Yiffa up the packhouse steps. "Do you have a chill? Would you like some tea?" He wanted to spend more time with Yiffa.

"No thank-you. I have had a long day. I would like to get some rest," Yiffa smiled. She didn't want to smile but she couldn't help it.

"I will meet you at your room in the morning and escort you to breakfast." Ocuna whispered, hoping she would not reject his offer.

She nodded. "That would be nice." She turned and went into her room.

The guard at the door and the guard that was following them smiled at Ocuna.

"I would not let anything happen to her," Occuna told them. They nodded and stayed outside her door. He sighed and headed to his room. He wanted his mate, but he was willing to give her time.

The Luna knocked on Ocuna's door and walked in. "How was your stroll, my son?" she asked.

"It was nice. She is beautiful and has gorgeous blue eyes," he smiled.

"Will she be strong enough to be a Beta's wife?"

"Mother, are you doubting the choice the moon goddess made for me?" Ocuna questioned.

"Of course not. I only want the best for my children. I hope she does not want to mate with you because of your status." his mother continued.

"I am sure that is not it. She was the chosen mate for her pack's new Alpha until he found his mate. She must be a special person since he sent her to find her true mate as well. She said he wanted her to be as happy as he is. She will be a great Beta's wife," he defended.

"I just want you to be happy, " she cautioned. She kissed her son on the forehead and left his room. She thought, "Will she be willing to step down from the Alpha's chosen to a Beta's wife?"

She headed back to her room. Her husband had not returned. She was use to her lonely nights. She sighed. She took a shower and went to sleep wondering which she-wolf was entertaining his sadistic side.

Alpha Soto, Beta Dolph, and Delta Zeeb walked towards the treeline. "I don't see any guards," Beta Dolph noted.

"I didn't see any guards when Maccon took us our tour this afternoon," Delta Zeeb remarked.

"I don't see any pack members. None are taking an evening stroll or sitting on their porches," Alpha Soto noted. "It's as if they are on lock down." They kept walking.

All of a sudden a she-wolf scurried towards them. "Are you ok?" Beta Dolph asked the she-wolf.

She looked at the floor. She was trembling. "I am fine."

"Why are you frightened? Is someone chasing you? Do you need help?" Delta Zeeb asked.

She slowly looked up. She was confused. "You are not going to take me away?"

"Take you where?" Delta Zeeb was confused.

"Nevermind, I am sorry for being out so late. My mother needed medicine. I will return home immediately." She bowed and scurried off.

The three men stared after her. They followed from a distance and made sure she got home safely. Alpha Soto became concerned.

"What is she so scared of? Where did she think we would take her?" Beta Dolph had a bad feeling.

When they returned to the packhouse, they checked with the guard about Yiffa. She was in her room sleeping. They headed to their rooms for the night.

Alpha Soto was worried about this pack.
He was still thinking about the fear, no the terror that the she-wolf had in her eyes.
