HELLO PEOPLE!!! here's the next part, please enjoy and comment :) oh, and anything that belongs to Rick Riordan belongs to him, whatever belongs to Incidious (spoiler alert!) belongs to them, and everything else belongs to me :) ENJOY!!!!!
I was back in my awkward seat, squished between Al and Kira. I wasn’t looking at either of them, preferring to stare out of the windshield instead. The dark, heavy clouds reflected my mood, no better from the incident this morning.
The first day into our mission and we just had to meet and antagonize a God. I shot a hot glare at the redhead beside me, but her eyes were locked onto the window beside her. Probably searching for more dragons to ‘protect’ me from.
I unconsciously grumbled and sank lower into my seat, waiting impatiently to get out of the car. The damp, musty scent was getting to me, along with my nausea. Cars and I don’t get along too well, if I’ve got nothing else to focus on but the fact that we were moving. The twins find my extreme case of motion-sickness hilarious, as they did now, but one fraction of a glare from my mood was enough to shut them up. The entire car was silent now, even the couple in the back. Everyone seemed to be focused on the world outside of the car, filled with unsuspecting people and disguised monsters.
I jumped a little when Ree swerved into a hard turn, cutting off the traffic light, and pulled into a parking place. I looked through the rain-specked windshield to see an old-fashioned cinema, advertising their movies on a billboard that had seen better days. There weren’t a lot of people passing by the theatre, with none going in. I wondered if it was even in service anymore, but Ree was getting everybody out of the car and ushering us towards it.
I grumbled to myself again, and rolled out of the massive car to land on my feet, narrowly missing a giant-ass puddle. I started for the theatre, hoping to keep my nausea and headache off to the side for a while. The twins started commenting again, but I toned them out and focused on calming my stomach and pounding head. My body felt hot and cold, and slightly chilly.
It was better when we got inside the theatre, even though the inside wasn’t much better than the outside. There was only one ticket usher, who looked at us lazily as we all piled in front of her small booth.
She yawned, and ran a hand through her short dirty-blonde hair, “You guys going to see Incidious?”
Ree pushed her way to the front of the group, and I turned as an arm bumped mine slightly. Kira looked back at me, and then pointedly moved away enough so that we didn’t touch, but she could move closer if she had to. My infamous scowl twisted my face again, and I stomped past the bored usher into the lobby. There were only a few really old-fashioned arcade games, which the twins jumped onto immediately. Candice and Carson headed towards the small concession stand, with Al tailing them hungrily. I shook my head, my nausea and headache disappearing little by little. That gut could eat a buffet and then go to McDonalds for a supersized meal right after.
I started when Kira asked beside me quietly, “Are you sure that Phobos will appear in here?”
I was already irritated, and her lack of support in my friends’ decisions (since she was too busy sleeping to contribute to them) pissed me off more.
“Yes,” I snapped at her, “He will appear, and then we’ll finally have a lead on this stupid quest.”
I attempted to storm off, but she followed me silently, all the way to the concession stand. Carson and Candice had ordered popcorn for all of us, even though we had breakfast not too long ago, and Al was digging into his. The cashier was a sleepy-looking teen with squinty blue eyes that never once deterred from Candice. She, in turn, didn’t look at him once, making goo-goo eyes at Carson, who paid the staring cashier. He stared dumbly at the money in his hand (provided from Carson and Ree’s very charitable mother), while Carson inclined his head towards the cash register. The cashier’s acne-ridden face reddened, and with an obvious glance towards Candice, he ringed up our popcorn and turned around abruptly to get our drinks.
