"Leah, what are you doing?" You ask, leaning on the door frame.
"I couldn't just leave things how we left them the other day." She took a step closer to you and took a deep breath.
"Look, I don't know how to say this but-" she paused and looks at you to check you're listening. You nod in encouragement.
"I've always found you very attractive. After we had that stupid fall out I was so annoyed with myself because I really liked you. When I watched you get hurt on the pitch the other day it brought back all of the feelings I'd tried to suppress for so long. When you hugged me I really did let my emotions take over because in that moment when you were looking at me with those gorgeous eyes all I wanted to do was know what it would be like to kiss you."
"So, you just wanted to know what it would be like to kiss me?" You chose to go down the wind up route because the sight of Leah Williamson, the England captain squirming in front of you was really quite cute.
"No no no. Shit. What I'm trying to say is I still like you, I've always liked you and I wanted to kiss you and I really liked it." She fiddled with her sleeves and looked at the ground.
You turn around and walk back into your house. She stayed stood by the door, her mouth opening to say something.
"Don't just stand there, come in and shut the door, you're letting the heat out."
Leah quickly shut her mouth and followed your instructions. She started walking towards you after slipping her trainers off by the front door.
"Are you after something serious or am I just a project?" You ask straight out.
"You're not just a project. I wouldn't key someone's car for a person I didn't seriously care about." Leah smiled slightly.
"Okay." You stand with your hands on your hips and nod slowly.
"It's hot in here." Leah announced and tried to pull her hoodie over her head.
Her top came up with her hoodie and your eyes went straight to her toned stomach, you watched as her hoodie got stuck and you couldn't contain yourself anymore. You walk over to Leah and push your body against hers, pinning her to the wall behind her. Her breath caught and you helped her peel her hoodie off her and discard it behind you. She stood and looked at you, her hair now in disarray. You rest your forehead on hers and you both stand still, your body pushed against her, breathing heavily. Your hands rest on Leah's waist and you drag them up under her top onto her bare stomach. Her breath hitches and her eyes go dark, hungry, looking at your lips. You bite your lip and proceed to press your lips against hers. Leah's arms go round your neck and you lift her up so she can wrap her legs around your waist. You kiss her deep, tongues fighting for dominance and you blindly walk her over to your sofa. She moans as you bite her lip and set her down on her back. You're interrupted by her phone buzzing loudly from her pocket. You pull yourself off of her and hover above her.
"Why did you stop?" Leah asks.
"Your phone, it might be important you raise an eyebrow at her. She huffed and pulled her phone from her pocket.
It was Jordan.
You sigh, get off of her and sit away from her.
"I don't know why she's calling me." Leah looked perplexed.
"I thought you said she couldn't even look at you anymore." You could feel anger building up in the pit of your stomach.
"She can't. I honestly don't know what she wants she hasn't spoken to me in months honestly." Leah pleaded, locking her phone to stop the buzzing.
"Why don't I believe you?" You narrow your eyes at her.
"I don't know what you want me to say. I don't speak to her and I don't know why she's ringing me!" Leah raised her voice slightly.
"Are you actually still with her and you just decided you're bored and fancied trying someone else?" You wince at the words that came out of your own mouth.
"Leah, I-" You begin, seeing the look of hurt your words had etched into her face.
"Nah, forget it. If you actually think that about me then you obviously don't think very much of me do you?" She got up and snatched her hoodie from the floor.
"Leah, wait-"
"No. I'm having you sit here and basically accuse me of being a cheat. I genuinely like you and just because my ex calls me you assume I'm still with her. I'm not down with that." Leah began making her way to the door and you scramble off the sofa after her.
"No, no, no. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." You run ahead of Leah and try to get in between her and your front door.
"Save it." Leah brushes past you.
She pauses before she opens the front door and looks back at you.
"Have a good Christmas. I wanted you to be part of it but I guess you don't feel the same way for me as I do for you." Leah walked out of your front door and slammed it behind her.
Your legs were frozen to the spot and you feel a single tear roll down your cheek.
Why did you just let her go? Why didn't you just confess your feelings and make her feel wanted. You punch the door frame next to you in frustration.
You spend the next hour pacing in your living room, trying to figure out what to say to Leah, you couldn't leave it like this.
You hear your phone buzz and you run to it.

Just to let you know all Jordan wanted was for me to pick up the Christmas decorations from the house. I took the tree but not the decorations but I told her to keep them because I don't want to see her. Not that you probably believe that.

You sighed deeply. You'd been an absolute idiot and pushed away someone who did genuinely care about you. You knew what you had to do.
You run upstairs and grab a jacket, put your shoes on and run straight to your car. You drive to a retail park near you and go into the nearest home store. You inhale the scent of tinsel and Christmas spice as you push around a trolley and fill it with baubles, tinsel and tree decorations. You quickly pay and load your car up with bags of decorations. You were praying this would work.
You get back in your car and start driving to Leah's house, you take a deep breath as you pull onto her driveway next to her car. You unload the bags of decorations and lug them up the steps to the front door. You set them down and knock, the butterflies in your stomach ready to burst out of you. You hear footsteps and see a familiar looking shadow behind the frosted glass.
The door opens and there she is, Leah Williamson, looking as gorgeous as ever.
"What are you doing?" Leah didn't look happy.
"I'm sorry, Leah." You can feel your eyes starting to well up.
"Just leave it. You obviously don't trust me-"
"Leah, my last girlfriend cheated on me. She hooked up with one of my team mates behind my back so I'm sorry but my mind just thought the worst. I mean look at you, you're fucking stunning, why would someone like you be interested in someone like me?" You blurt out.
Leah looked at the floor and a smile crept across her face.
"You think I'm stunning yeah?" She bit her lip trying to contain her smile.
"Yes. I do. And I should've said it earlier but I like you too." Our eyes met and she couldn't contain her smile any longer. She opened the door fully and stepped forward to kiss you. Her arms snaked around your neck and your arms wrap around her waist. You feel her smile into the kiss before coming to a stop.
She pulled herself away from you slightly to look at the bags next to you.
"What's that?" She asked.
"Well, you said you didn't want to go to Jordan's to get your decorations so I bought you some new ones." You say shyly.
A huge smile plastered Leah's face.
"I thought maybe I could help you decorate. I want to be part of you Christmas too." You smile. Leah laughs a hearty laugh and picks up one of the bags.
"Come on then, I'll get the tree down."
