It was now 2am and everybody was extremely drunk. You'd slowed down on the alcohol slightly so that you could still take care of Leah as she was now very drunk. Most people had gone home, only Beth, Viv, Lotte, Jordan and Katie were left with you and Leah.
You found yourself in the kitchen with Jordan in what you felt was a slightly awkward atmosphere.
As you poured your drink you looked up to see Jordan already staring at you.
"You alright Jords?" You ask, she's swaying.
"Yeah, I'm good. You and Leah seem a little cosy." She slurred.
"What do you mean?" Jordan walks around the island to stand close to you, you lean back slightly as you smell the alcohol on her breath as she speaks.
"That kiss earlier looked like you'd done it before." She narrows her eyes at you, gripping onto the counter top for support.
"Jordan, it was a dare, don't deepen it." You roll your eyes at her feeling as though you weren't being convincing at all.
You look past Jordan to see Leah staring at the two of you, she looked angry.
"So you're single then?" Jordan asked waving her drink in gesture.
"Yeah." You say unconvincingly.
"Well then why don't you go on a date with me?" Jordan looks up you with raised eyebrows.
"Jordan, I'm not going on a date with anyone. I just got out of a shitty relationship and I don't want to go down that road again." You roll your eyes, why was this happening to you twice in one night. None of the Arsenal girls had seen you properly dressed up and you regretted your choice of wearing something you knew you looked good in.
"What's going on?" Leah came into the room, rage written across her face.
"Nothing." You try and look at Leah with a calming expression but Jordan added fuel to the flames.
"I just asked Y/N on a date. Despite what you think Leah, I'm not hung up on you like you think." Jordan swayed.
Leah looked at you, her eyes filled with hurt.
"Leah, I didn't say yes I-" Leah stormed out of the room and put the front door.
"For fuck sake Jordan." You say, pushing her aside and chasing Leah out onto the street.
She hadn't made it far, she was clutching the wall of the house three doors down sobbing.
"Leah!" You shout running up to her.
"Leave me alone." She sobs, pushing you away.
"Le, what have I done?" You plead, you hated seeing her so upset, all you wanted to do was wrap your arms around her.
"Is that all it was? Use me to get close to Jordan?" She spat, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Le, listen to me. I-"
"No! I heard everything I needed to in there! I saved you from that creep earlier and how do you repay me? You go on a date with my ex?!" She tries to walk away from you but you stop her as she stumbles and nearly falls.
"Leah. Listen to me. I am not going on a date with Jordan. I said no." You say sternly. You didn't want to argue with her but she was drunk and she wasn't listening to you right now.
Leah stopped and looked at you, her eyes sparkling from the tears she had shed as she tried to process the information you'd just given her.
"But she said she asked you on a date." Leah looked confused as her voice trembled.
"She did, I said no. She's trying to get to you, Le. I think she's still in love with you. If you want to be with her please tell me now because I don't want to play any games." You hold Leah by the shoulders to stop her from swaying. She scrunches her face up.
"There are no games! I'm not in love with Jordan, I'm in love with you!" Leah shouts.
You freeze, she finally said the words you thought she'd never say again. Given the circumstances you weren't thrilled this is how she said it, she was drunk but you also knew that a drunk mind speaks sober thoughts.
Leah realises herself what she's just said and turns to start walking away again.
"Le, where are you going?" You follow her closely.
"Home. I get it, you don't feel the same way, it's fine, let's just stop this now before either of us get hurt." You throw your arms in the air in frustration. She was just not listening.
You stop in the middle of the street.
"Leah Williamson, I'm in love with you too." You bellow out into the street.
She stops in her tracks and slowly turns around. You walk towards her.
"Le, I've never fallen in love with someone so quickly that it scares me. But you make me feel safe, wanted and loved and that's all I've ever wanted. I know I can trust you and I trust you with my heart. Obviously this isn't how I pictured telling you but I don't care, I love you." You feel a tear escape your eye as your emotions fill you up.
Leah catches your tear with her finger and wipes it away.
"I'm sorry. I guess I never thought anyone would love me again after..." she trailed off, you knew she meant after Jordan.
"You said it when you stood up to my Gran, I've been thinking about it since then. I was just too scared to ask if you meant it in case you'd said it in the heat of the moment." You hold Leah's hands and massage them with your thumbs.
"I'm sorry I didn't bring it up. I did say it in the heat of the moment but I did mean it. I just assumed you thought it was too soon so I didn't bring it back up in case I freaked you out." She laughed, sniffing in between.
"Oh, Le. Nothing seems too soon with you." You brush her hair behind her ear and stare into her ocean riddled eyes.
"I love you." She said confidently.
"I love you too." You smile at her and kiss her delicately on the lips, this time was different, you could feel the love emanating from her.
"So I was right then." You both whirl around quickly to see Jordan stood with her arms folded looking at you both.
"What do you want Jordan?" Your voice deepening in defence.
"I want to know what you've got that I haven't." She raised her eyebrows and looked at Leah.
"It's none of your business Jordan. We've been over for ages now and you need to deal with the fact that I've moved on and move on yourself." Leah spoke so clearly you wondered how she managed to sober up so fast.
"Why should I just move on? We had something." Jordan hissed.
"Yes, had, in the past tense. We're over, I told you I wasn't happy and I didn't want to be with you anymore. You need to deal with it." Leah said confidently. You admired her for being so strong. You stare at her in admiration.
"Stop looking at her like that." Jordan snapped, you look at Jordan in disbelief.
"I can look at her how I want to Jordan, because she's mine and she loves me." Jordan shakes her head and looks back at Leah who's now staring at you and smiling.
"Oh please. You don't love her, Leah." Jordan scoffs.
"I do actually. I really love her." She smiles widely and kisses you confidently on the lips.
"Oh fuck off, both of you, you deserve each other." You hear her footsteps as she walks away and you deepen the kiss with Leah, allowing yourself to melt into her.
"We should go home, I've got something to show you." Your head is resting against Leah's forehead as she unbutton your shirt a little to remind her of the lingerie you were wearing.
"Yes we should." Her eyes widen and she takes your hand, walking back towards her house.
"Thank you, Le." You smile at her as you walk.
"For what?" She looks puzzled.
"For loving me."
