Nina Chime, a sixteen year old girl, dealing with many differences that others take advantage to. It's not her fault she's this way, it's more her mum's, Cheryl Kim, as she never raised her as she should've done.
Nina agrees to a 'friend' to venture...
I suddenly open my eyes and yell out noises instead of words. I was heavy breathing and trying to catch my breath.
I woke up in a room that doesn't belong to me. It has pale grey walls with a cream floor and white cabinets placed in odd places.
But what really threw me off was the beeping I could hear in my left ear.
I look over to my left to see a screen that showed some of my health stats such as my heart rate.
Suddenly, someone in a while lab coat walked in.
Once standing at the end of my bed, my vision cleared and I could see him properly. Not only a lab coat, he was also wearing the regular blue scrubs doctors would normally wear.
"Good afternoon, I'm doctor Brown. Miss Chime, you've just awaken from your four year coma. I understand that it's a lot to listen to right now but we've been trying to understand what lead to your coma. Your mother found you stone cold on your bed and she called an ambulance. They accessed you and claimed you won't dead so they took you in. Many doctors, including myself, concluded that you were in a coma. You've been on life support for the past four years. Many specialists such as psychologists questioned your mother on your day to day life but she unfortunately didn't know enough. So we used some special technology to look into your brain. Within a coma, sometimes people can image things like you did. Specialists use this information to determine if someone has a mental illness or not. Many of the specialists concluded you with schizophrenia, psychosis or both. They all came to a conclusion after watching your continuous image that it was both schizophrenia and psychosis. We would rather you remain in hospital for a bit longer so we can help you to walk, talk and other important basics again. If you need anything then press the buzzer on your right and I'll return."
I nod in response after trying to speak and realising I couldn't. But I do wonder where mum is. She called for the ambulance after all and saved my life.
The doctor is on his way to leave before he turns around to look at me "One more thing, Nina, your mother has visited you almost everyday since we claimed you were in a coma. She told us a lot about how she's raised you. We did report it to the police as she has physically abused you before," as he said that, I looked down "But she was desperate to not go to prison. She still went to court and was agreed that she would go to prison for a week. She told us that, that one week was enough for her to understand her faults and wrongs. She'd come in and apologise to you everyday ever since she was in prison," I looked up at him again as a couple tears escaped my tired eyes "She was in earlier today actually so I'm going to make a call to her to have her come up, if that's okay with you?"
