She looks at me with that same stern look, her eyes half closed but intimidating "What?"
I gulp and twirl a strand of my wavy, blonde hair with my finger as I become anxious "Can... can I-?"
"No you can't have the day off." she spits at me before leaving the kitchen.
I sigh as I pick my sweet sixteen mug to drink the coffee inside it "It's no use." I sigh, coming deadly close to tears.
"She'll never understand, Nina, but you always have me." Flutter comes in.
Flutter is a butterfly themed girl, sitting beside me with her hand on my shoulder.
"She'll never understand, will she?" I ask.
Flutters pouts before shaking her head. She rubs my shoulder gently "You've tried several times to help her understand but it's gone nowhere." she reminds me.
Before I could reply, mum walks in again "Would you shut the fuck up talking to yourself?!" she yells at me.
"But, mum! Can't you see her? She's sitting right next to me." I wave my arms to my right where Flutter is sat beside me.
"You're crazy," mum spits as she grabs a mug to make herself some coffee "Be more normal for mother. No one can see you like this or they'll think I'm a bad parent."
I look away from where she's standing. I feel Flutter's hand move to my skinny bicep as she squeezes it lightly, reminding me she's still here.
"But you are a bad parent." the words slip out of my mouth.
Without looking, I hear mum move closer to me until something rough grabs my chin. Turning my head forcefully, mum's anger is now known, her face inches away from mine "I'm not a bad parent, you're just a crazy bitch no one will ever want in their life. Because if I don't want you, no one else will."
I try freeing my chin but her grip is so painfully strong. She's hurting me. Tears sting my eyes.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes, mum."
"It's mother."
"Sorry, mother." she likes it when I'm formal. She hates me that much, I can't be free with my words.
She lets go of my chin and pulls herself away. She goes back to the coffee machine as she pours her drink into the mug "Hurry the fuck up, you'll be late for school."
I look at my silver watch as it shows I'm late behind my schedule. I push the chair out as I run upstairs to my bedroom.
Already being dressed; I brush over my hair, brush my teeth, wash my face so the tears can disappear and grab my bag, ready for the day ahead of me.
I rush back downstairs as I see mum in the living room. I sigh as I find another guy sleeping on the floor in the living room.
"Love you, mother." I call out but getting no response. I tear escapes my eye as I close the door behind me.
