"You're pregnant?" Neteyam breathes out, his eyes lighting up like stars. "I'm pregnant." I reiterate, my mouth dropping open with happiness.

He leaps to his feet and strides across the room to me, lifting me off of my feet as he hugged me tightly, the two of us laughing together. He grips me to his chest, letting me throw my arms around his neck and hold him as close as I could. "We're gonna have a baby." He says in disbelief, lowering me back onto my feet. I nod my head, brushing my tears away as he cradled my face in his hands. "We're gonna be parents," I gush, placing my hand on my stomach.

It felt weird putting my hand there now. Before it was just my stomach, but now, there was a little baby growing there. And suddenly everything felt different.

Neteyam drops to his knees and places his forehead on my stomach, holding onto my hands tightly. "This means everything..." He whispers out, letting go of one of my hands to hold my stomach. There wasn't a bump there yet, but neither of us cared. There was a baby in there, and that is all that mattered.

A part of me knew how stressful the next 9 months of our lives were going to be, the constant check ups and us preparing for our new addition. But in the long run it would all be worth it. I would start showing in a matter of weeks and then it would be even more real then it was before.

"You're going to be an amazing mum, Ai'ina. I just know it." He tells me, pressing a kiss to my stomach before getting back onto his feet. "I will be, as long as I have you by my side." I smile, pulling his face down to mine to kiss him. He holds onto me with care, gripping at my hips gently so he could pull me as close to him as possible. We giggle into the kiss before we pull away, smiling giddily at one another.

"We should head back, I can't wait to tell everyone!" Neteyam smiles and I nod my head. "We should. But we have to tell Tuk first, we promised." I smile back. Neteyam chuckles and takes my hand, leading the two of us out of the med-bay once more. "She will actually kill us this time if we don't tell her first." He laughs, making me snort. "I think she wouldn't be happy about it but doubt she would kill us." "No no, she will kill us. Why do you think she hasn't got her own hunting knife yet?" He points out, the realisation setting into my bones.

"Surely not," I laugh in disbelief, but Neteyam was nodding his head, very convinced on what he was telling me. "Oh yes, love. One time, Lo'ak annoyed her so much that she took his knife and chased him round the clan until he apologised. Even then she wouldn't give up until he gave her back her toy." He tells me. I was surprised that she had done that, but at the same time I know the girl way too well to think that Neteyam wasn't telling the truth. "She's fiesty, I wonder where she gets it from..." I trail off with a laugh, knowing exactly where she got it from. I had been around her siblings too much to know for myself, plus her father is Toruk Makto. However, that wasn't even where I was sure she got it from. I had seen the way Neytiri was there for her children, there was no doubt in my mind that the little girl got it from her mother.

Neteyam and I walk through the village again, the sun beaming high in the sky. It had to have only been around midday now, but there was nothing that Neteyam and I wanted to do more than share this amazing news with everyone we loved and cared about. It was such a special moment, and one I would never forget. And I knew it would be a place of celebration and rejoice for everyone surrounding us too.

My husband could barely keep himself contained again as we rounded the few corners to the Marui Pod, his feet bouncing on the webbed dock beneath us that even made me bounce a little too. It was so mesmirising seeing him so content, so excited. I had no clue how he was going to be able to wait another 38 weeks until I had this baby, and that's if it came on time.
