Ainz reappeared within a thick mist.

He could not pierce the clouds of grey, his sight was gone, obscured by the mist.

Unsettling voices permeated the haze, and massive shapes moved about overhead and beyond.

"{Detect Life.}" The Overlord remained unmoved. Nothing registered.

He lifted an arm."{Detect Unlife} {Find Anomaly} {Detect Terrors} {Reveal Identity}"

The Overlord made his observation, "It appears that the mist has the ability to block areal detection spells at point blank range as well, then..." He struck the ground hard with the guild weapon and invoked; "{Dominion Expansion}." The mist was blown away in a diameter of hundreds of kilometers.

The clearing gave Ainz a vast view of his surroundings, and he didn't like what he saw.

Endless sandy plains where no life could flourish. Ponds of lava and acid were scattered throughout the lands, and huge starfish like abominations trod above, towering over Ainz by hundreds of meters.

"There you are." Ainz said, his crackling orbs catching sight of a figure swaying in the wind.

He held out a hand, and released a flurry of spells, "{Summon Greater Undead Army} {Enhance Undead: Greater Full Potential} {Enhance Undead: Boost Level}" an army numbering in the thousands appeared. The Undead was diverse, however even the weakest of them were Death Knights, the strongest being named legendary undead, one of which was Thanatos the Grim Reaper.

Ainz however wasn't finished, "{Call of the Abyss} {Dominate Unknown Terror XIV}"

The ground gave way, and water poured out. From the paddle grew a lake, and from it an ocean.

Ainz silently cast {Fly}, and hovered up above, while feelers broke the water surface, and began twitching while frantically flapping about. An octopus-like head soon rose, whose face was a mass of feelers. Its body was of a dragon with a pair of thin wings and a tail.

The Sleeper of R'lyeh was here. Thankfully the damage she had sustained was more than adequate to make it possible for Ainz to use {Dominate}. However, her condition now wasn't one that could be of use to him. Ainz invoked, "{Enslave Soul}" seeing the spell take effect Ainz moved on to others, "{Perfect Condition} {Stars Align}."

The aura around Cthulhu has changed, and the waves around the Great Old One drained away. The Great Dreamer towered above the abominations that roamed the land, and without a word she began picking up the massive starfishes and devoured them. Meanwhile Ainz trained his attention on the Black Man. He had done all this, and yet the Crawling Chaos refused to budge. It appears he would let Ainz prepare sufficiently. Let me make you regret looking down on me.

"{Dimensional Lock} {Distort Reality XIV} {Depiction of Nature and Society}!" Ainz recounted the spells, he would have to make sure that once the battle started in earnest the eldritch terror would have no way to run. {Depiction of Nature and Society} was once a World Class Item in possession of the guild Ainz Ooal Gown, however the Overlord has long since found a way to consume world items, and this was one of the first he swallowed with his {Red Orb of Momonga}.

The first change occurred in the Black Man as his cloak came loose and revealed riving flesh beneath. The head morphed into a long tentacle that swayed above the body, while several hands erupted all around the torso, each boosting long claws and charred muscles. No skin was visible on the man.

"What have you done?!" The dismembered voice rasped, the muscles crawled and twisted into grotesque forms, new appendages morphing and birthing an entirely new, revolting being.
