Shadow woke up to loud banging on his door he sighed knowing exactly who it was so he just ignored it turning on his side to face the couch he fell asleep on and after a while it stopped so he assumed rouge gave up but he assumed wrong when a click was heard telling shadow that rouge unlocked his door

How you ask? He doesn't know either, why bother knocking when you can just open the door whenever.

Shadow heard the beating of his coworkers wings stop once she came up to the couch shadow slept upon at least that what it looked like shadow continued to ignore the bat until he heard a too familiar sound the sound of the bat sniffling shadow turned around to face the bat to see if what he heard was really what he though and it was, rouge was rubbing her eyes in her gloves which made her cry even more shadow sighed and sat up moving his legs to give the bat space to sit

There was a quiet silence the only sounds heard was rouges pitiful sniffling "he's dead shadow.." rouge murmured almost a complete whisper, now this caught his interest "who?" Shadow said not caring much people and Mobians die every day so it didn't bother him "sonic" rouge said lowering her head covering her face with her hands hiding the messed up makeup

Shadow wanted to ask again just to make sure what he heard was right but he knew his ears weren't playing tricks on him he still held his tuff demeanor but damn why did his chest hurt so much maybe he drank too much coffee yesterday.

There was another silence what was shadow supposed to say anyway 'its ok'? Yeah, no plus that would be a lie anyway "he's buried already everyone agreed to have his grave buried on green hill" rouge said getting up to leave shadow stood too he wouldn't just let her leave without saying all she knew on the situation what exactly could kill Mobius hero sonic the hedgehog fastest thing alive "how did it happen" shadow asked not wanting to seem too interested in his rivals death

Rouge seemed somewhat surprised but gave shadow her answer "he had an autopsy but they couldn't find anything else other than.." rouge stopped turning away in a manner as if it was too much to say shadow still waited for an answer "his skull was smashed in with multiple broken bones" rouge said shadows eye's widened "the police said there wasn't anything they could do and to keep his death secret to avoid panic" "THATS BULLSHIT" shadow yelled his anger slipping out "shadow calm down" rouge said calmly as a sweat drop rolled down her muzzle

"We are trying to figure out what happened ourselves and we already have a lead" rouge said which intrigued the ebony

Rouge lead shadow all the way back to the home tails had shared with sonic.
