Chapter 5

Today is my first day of school and trust me I'm soo nervous. I tried look for Scarlet over the past few days but I have not been successful. I needed some answers and she is the only one who could give them to me.

But right now I'm having a fashion crisis. It's my first day and I want to look presentable and not like a homeless person. Don't get me wrong I got a lot of clothes but I just can't decide on what to wear.

After 15 minutes I finally decided what I'm going to wear. I settled with a cute black-pink mini skirt that was a little above my knee, with a black tank top and leather jacket. I paired them off with my black combat boots that was gifted to me from my dad. After showering and doing my hair into a neat bun I went downstairs.

My mom was just setting the table when she looked up at me and smiled. "Awe mi hija you look amazing. My baby is starting her last year of high school" she said while wiping invisible tears from her eyes. I rolled my eyes while laughing.

"Mom you're so dramatic, anyway what for breakfast?" I asked looking over her shoulder into the pan. Just then I heard heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. You could hear each creek with every step. I turned around seeing Jordan with a grim look on his face. What crawled up his butt this morning?

"Morning honey you are just in time for breakfast" my mom told him. He just nodded his head and took his seat. Strange but I brushed it off. Mom started to dish out the food and may I tell you it smelled delicious. She made us eggs, bacon and biscuits with orange juice on the side.

I hurriedly ate my food cause I don't want to be late on my first day. I got up and put my dish and cup in the dish washer and closed it. But when I looked at my mom to tell her I'm ready for her to drop me off at school I realized she was still in her pajamas. " Mom you aren't going to take me to school looking like that right?" She start laughing. What's so funny? I thought.

"Oh honey Jordan is taking you to school today". She said still laughing. I was so shocked. I don't want to go anywhere with that dude. But I guess I have no choice but to go. I just went up to my room and picked up my backpack and my phone and headed to the car.

He was already in the car, so I went and sit on the opposite side. He started the engine and started driving to the school. The school is in the town and near the church. The drive was silent until I heard Jordan speak up " I don't think you should go back in the woods. It's not safe for a girl like you" he told me.

" I do whatever I want Jordan. You are not my dat nor will you ever be. I mean what's the worst that could happen?" I didn't look at him but I noticed his hand tightening around the steering wheel and his knuckles were getting white. "Listen you little brat, this is not the city, this is my territory and what I say goes" he shouted.

I didn't even flinch cause I'm not scared of him. Creep out yes but scared oh hell no. I started laughing like a mad woman. Who the hell does he think he is? I continued laughing until I saw that we just entered the town. I looked out the window when I felt the car come to a halt. We were right outside of my new school.

I was about to exit the car when the doors lock automatically. I looked over at Jordan and he still looked mad. " Look here, you will live here with your mom and I whether you like it or not. I may not be your dad but you still live under my roof therefore you will obey what I say". Is he kidding me right now.

I looked him on the eye not breaking eye contact. "Or what?". I didn't even wait for his reply as I opened the door and exit the car. He tried to say something else but I shut the door in his face. I walked through the gates and enter the school. I looked back and I saw that the car was not there.

I took a deep breath and walked up the stairs to enter the doors of hell. I took a deep breath. Here we go I guess, I thought before pushing open the door.

Do you think she was wrong for speaking to Jordan that way?
