Seiko
"Trevor I already told you I'm not going out with you!" I said walking into the house with shopping bags.
I had just came from the mall and I got my sisters and I the new Jordan's that just came out. I was the only one into tennis shoes, they liked heels and sandals. Fuck all that, you gotta be comfortable.
They watched me with averted brows as I talked to Trevor on the phone.
I smirked at them and placed the bag down. We all wore a size 6 so it didn't matter which box they grabbed.
"Okay Trevor, I'll see you at work tonight." I said rolling my eyes.
I hung up and turned to my sisters.
Rochelle was smirking. "Why won't you go out with that boy?" She asked looking at her all white Jordan's in awe.
"He's annoying, and me and Trevor? That's my homeboy, I don't look at him like that." I said waving them off.
"He's cute though Seiko." Ro said trying hers on.
"I understand all that but, we been knowing each other too long. It's no fire, no curiosity, no love there." I said sitting down next to Ronnie.
"I guess. That boy loves you, has since 5th grade." Chelle said standing up and modeling.
"Here you go!" I said sighing and leaning back with my legs cocked open like a dude.
"She telling the truth, you know Trevor got a thing for you. Besides I like him." Ronnie said hugging me.
"Wait a minute Chelle, I know you ain't parting your lips to tell me anything about a boy who loves me. 5th floor, tall dark skinned brother name Mike who stay giving us money? Remember him? Oh by the way, here." I said handing her the money Mike told me to give her.
"Again!" She said taking it.
"Aye, don't shoot the messenger. I told him plenty of times and he always say, 'Koko, you supposed to be my lil thug, man, what's going on with y'all? Don't let y'all sister play me like that.' You know how he is!" I said mimicking him and staring blankly at her when I was finished.
"Exactly, I know how he is! And whatever, this not about me and Mike, it's about you and Trevor." She said rolling her eyes and sashaying out of the living room.
"That's what I thought!" I yelled after her.
I looked at Ronnie who was smiling at me.
"Thanks Koko." Ronnie said goofily smiling up at me and holding her shoes.

"Aye, bitch better have my money!" My co-workers and I sung and danced around the master suite as we cleaned.
I wiped down the mirrors and swayed my lil hips. Times like this I wish Ronnie could give me a lil body.
"Lacey get your ass up out the bed and clean up!" I said smacking her thigh with a towel.
"Ouch!" She jumped up and grabbed a wet towel and it was now a war.
She stood on the bed and swung. I dodged it and swung at her. Ashley was laughing as she recorded us. I hit her leg and she screamed, she got me on the side of neck. I screamed and fainted like I had been shot.
Ashley rushed over to me dramatically and knelt beside me. "Seiko! Seiko, don't go to the light!" She yelled making us all laugh.
We heard the door open and Glenda walked in with her arms folded. We quickly stood up and stood next to each other. Lacey jumped off the bed following suit.
"Do you girls think I am running a zoo? You are disturbing guest here! Lacey, go to room 201." She said nodding to the hallway.
Lacey brushed past her with her head down.
"If I get another complaint, I am sending you girls home for the rest of the week." She said sternly.
"Yes Ms. Glenda." We said in unison feeling like we were back in grade school.
She turned to walk out and I made a face causing Ashley and I to laugh. She turned back around averting her right brow. We straightened up and got serious as if nothing happened. She walked out and we continued to goof around while we worked, we just did it quietly.
After we were done cleaning our floor and then some. We went down to the kitchen where Trevor worked. He always hooked us up with a doggy bag.
"Wassup Trev." I said hopping on the counter and hitting his hat.
He was a dish boy and a waiter for when they had events and stuff.
Trevor was tall, brown skinned; not dark and not light. Right in the middle. He had dimples and straight teeth. He had waves for days and was muscular. He was on the track team with me back in high school.
"Was up koko." He said as a big smile appeared on his face.
"Tired, Glenda the evil witch been working my nerves." I said grabbing a piece of ham and eating it.
As if on que, Lacey came dragging her feet in the kitchen and we all laughed. Ashley was dying on the floor. Lacey had to go clean with Glenda and we know she put her to work. Her hair was sweated out and her ponytail just dangled, her maid uniform was damp at the bottom, and she walked in limping like her feet hurt.
"Glenda made your ass work for once huh!" Ashley said between laughs.
"Shut up, and give me a drink." She said walking to the fridge.
She grabbed a bottle of water and downed it. Poor Lacey.
"So you still ain't tryna go out with me?" Trevor asked leaning on the counter as we both ate some ham.
"Trev, you don't think that's go be weird? We friends... Let's just stay that way." I said shrugging.
He put his head down smirking.
"You so stubborn, you only see me as Trevor the goof ball. We not in high school no more Seiko." He said grinning showing them damn dimples.
We weren't best friends growing up or nothing but we was cool. I was a tomboy and I always played with the boys. I almost joined the boys basketball team in high school too because our principal didn't wanna start a girls team. I changed that though. Now we number one in the state. Won district and the state championship when I started the team. Won mvp too. *Toots horn*
"That has nothing to do with it, I just don't wanna go out on a date." I said jumping off the counter. I was ready to go home, my body was aching and I needed some sleep.
"We going on a date!" He said grabbing my hand and kissing it. That made me so uncomfortable. In order to date a dude, I needed him to want me straight off the bat. We couldn't start off as friends because that's all I would see you as.
Homeboy was a decade too late to be trying to get with me. He was cute as hell though, I guess people change but I wasn't really sure if I wanted to figure it out.
