The game arena gave no clues on what the game would be, even as you walked inside. It was just a big house, appearing like it was built from candy, and it could have been anything, from a heart game with every candy being poisoned to a diamond escape room.

You were the last three to join in, and the game started almost as soon as you scanned your faces. Two of Spades. You smirked, glancing at a disappointed Chishiya.

"We are fucked." Aya's boyfriend laughed desperately. He wouldn't survive this, physical games weren't his strong pursuit at all. This time, however, the game seemed to have no newbies asking around for the new Tokyo they were transported to. Everyone here seemed anxious and a bit scared, but determined to try and survive. These were all experienced players.

"I have played Spades before, it can't be that bad..." You trailed off, observing the arena more as you walked further inside. Your phones chimed again, drawing your attention. "Game: Hansel and Gretel. Clear condition, don't let the witch find you."

"So its hide and seek in a candy house?" He laughed, turning to you. He was the only one embarrassing himself and wearing all his messy emotions on his sleeve. You just glared at him before the familiar automatic voice announced you only had five minutes to find a hiding spot. "Nezumi--"

"Splitting up is better." You cut the man off right away since you only had five minutes to hide before the witch would start searching. You didn't miss the small breath Chishiya let out, something he always did when trying to prevent a small smile from making its way on his face.

He, too, walked away heading up the stairs. You went to the other side of the gingerbread house and made it to the third and final floor which was more like an entertainment space with a huge pool table from jelly, a smaller living room like the one on the first floor, and a big lollipop TV.

Not much room for coverage, but it would have to do since time was running out. The first scream was heard right away, but no gunshots echoed. So the witch didn't have a gun. You smiled, now relaxing behind the jawbreaker that resembled a couch since you would have time to just run away.

"Nezumi! Nezumi, help!" You heard shouts that could only belong to one person and two pairs of heavy footsteps running up the stairs. The man didn't even make it up half the second staircase before he was killed, and the witch was now coming straight at you.

Seriously, not even five minutes had passed since the game started, and at least two people must be dead already. You sighed and broke a piece of hardened chocolate from the coffee table next to you, throwing it in the opposite direction.

The tagger didn't seem too alerted by the noise but still turned his back on you to check it out, and you took the chance to try and get down the stairs. Silent steps and sneaking out were something you knew by heart as you slowly stepped on the chocolate floor, trying to not make a single noise but be fast enough.

A small mocking laugh could be heard as the 'witch' picked the piece of chocolate up and turned around, looking you straight in the eye. You stared at him like a deer in headlights as he rose his- weirdly intimidating- makeshift hammer from a caramelized apple and pointed it at you. You ducked, but it hit the TV behind you, shattering the hard material into pieces.

One cut your leg, and another pierced into your side, but it was enough to snap you out of it and send you running down the peppermint stairs. You slid on the railing, making it to the second floor way before the witch, and looked around, seeing all looked doors of bedrooms and bathrooms.

You sucked in a breath, hearing footsteps quickly approaching you, and hit one door with your shoulder, struggling to get it to open. A hand landed on your arm and tried to pull you away but you were quick to try and punch the attacker.

"Ouch." You heard a groan and thrashed away from his hold, only to see Chishiya holding his nose with a bored expression. "Hurry it up." He tched, and you nodded as you rushed into the open bathroom, pulling him with you before you shut the door and held the door shut behind you.

"I thought you were the witch!"

"Clearly, I wasn't." He sighed, and his eyes landed on the piece of lollipop still etched in your side. "If you leave that in there--"

"I'm a med student too, I know, but it's not like I had time to pull it."

"Pull it? Did it occur to you you could bleed out by the time the game is over, and the penetrating trauma--" He stopped himself, leaning his ear against the door.

"I can't leave it in there either, who knows that thing won't start melting or something?! I haven't exactly dealt with a lollipop stab before--" His finger landed on your lips, shutting you up, as he fully placed his ear against the door to hear the witch passing by the door.

Chishiya was getting more frustrated by the minute with his decisions and the unnecessary riskS he was taking. Frankly, you weren't worth the trouble at all, he would find someone else to help with his plan.

"So all I had to do to get you to save me was say you got pretty eyes?" You smiled, and he was suddenly made painfully aware of the small distance between you. Back off, he wanted to show all his annoyance, but just shook his head and leaned away. "I can compliment you more often if that's what you want."

"You can repay me by shutting up."

All you did was shrug in response but still complied anyway. There were small moments that you weirdly showed your gratitude, he figured and smirked. Gratitude from you was a big step since you were usually completely independent and never allowed anyone to help the rare times you needed it.
