When the man finally cooled down, he realized the state he was in. His hair was messed up, just like it would look like if he had just woken up, his pupils blown wide, and he was still panting. Even his jacket was completely unzipped, and he couldn't even remember when you had done that or if you had touched his chest.
All he could recall was helplessly chasing after that small sound you made, desperately trying anything he could to hear it again. It started with wanting to give you your venom back.
He physically shook his head to get rid of his thoughts, splashing his face with water and looking back up at the mirror with a small smirk. It didn't matter now, all would be paid back in due time. He had caught that blush and the happy little smile.
At least his efforts weren't for nothing.
He went for a shower, settling that the damage and the feeling of your disease-infested little paws wouldn't go away with just a splash of water in his face. After that, he had barely had any time to sit down and tinker with his makeshift weapon before someone knocked on his door.
It wasn't Kuina, she always knocked in a loud, persistent way. Judging by the inexistence of urgency and nervousness, it wasn't anyone calling him to an executive meeting either. Nezumi.
He opened the door, and surely enough, he was right as he faced the annoying female. Her knock was careful and calculated, an action that anyone would do thoughtlessly. Not him, his knocks were always subtle, since his father was an easily irritable man.
Especially when he was in his office, knocking obnoxiously was a move tied to disaster. She had no reason to have a right knock, other than that she was her infuriating self. It was a small similarity to him, designed as if to annoy him.
"Why are you here?" He frowned, holding his hand connected to the door to stop her from entering. She ignored it, passing through anyway and sitting on his bed like it was hers, or this was a common occurrence. He did not like that.
"I'm bored." You stated, looking up at him expectantly.
"I'm not your plaything. And get off my bed." He glared, but you ignored it again. Instead, you reached a hand out to the table and examined his incomplete taser. He rolled his eyes, annoyed, and snatched it from you.
"What's that?"
"Nothing, it doesn't work anyway."
"What was it meant to be?" You persisted. He sighed, realizing there was no escape, and answered, complaining about its power and the rotten settings. He had tried to use it on something at what was supposed to be low mode the other day and started a small fire, nearly avoiding setting off the hotel's fire detector. "Mind if I take a stab at it?"
"All yours, I doubt you will be able to do anything much." He scoffed, carelessly throwing it in your lap seconds after complaining about how unpredictable it was. You didn't mind, seeing the perfect chance to tease the male.
"What do I get if I fix it?" You smirked mischievously, something he didn't miss.
"What do you want?" He clicked his tongue. You both knew he would give you nothing, but he d decided to humor you. In truth, knowing what you wanted was exactly what he was after.
"I get to tase you." You looked up at him, two surprised eyes staring back at you. "You sure did like it when I bit--"
"Let's see if you can fix it first, then you can start with your big words and promises." He scoffed, a sad attempt at trying to stop the words coming out of your mouth.
"Honestly, I would kill for some earphones right now, I haven't heard proper music in a while." You sighed, dropping the joke, and started working on the taser. You were by no means an expert, but you could try.
Chishiya watched the fluent, confident moves you made, as if making tasers had been a hobby of yours. He wasn't entirely sure[prised by the air of confidence, having witnessed you do things like they were simple as breathing when you had never tried them before.
He knew he was staring, but he didn't care. Normally you wouldn't either, but in the last days, the male had surprised you, and you were starting to see him in a different light. Normally when a guy showed interest in you, his approval would become something you couldn't care less for. With Chishiya, the need you had always had to impress him and prove yourself hadn't gone away.
If anything, it had gotten worse, to the point you craved his praise. That little eyebrow twitch when you surprised him or did something he wasn't expecting would shoot twinges of happiness inside you like a little child that did well on a test. It made you a bit nervous and left you feeling like you had to fix it, even if you had to tamper with it the whole night.
Eventually, Chishiya moved on, this time testing his luck with a water pistol. You groaned in frustration at the damn thing, finding it had taken you hours only to see a very slight improvement. Resting a bit wouldn't be so bad... just before the games.
Chishiya would surely wake you up, he wanted to join tonight.
Except he never did. Knowing how much of a light sleeper you were from years of running into you in the on-call room, he didn't even attempt on moving you to the bed or changing your position into a more comfortable one.
Instead, he sighed, managing a light balance between the chair and his pillow to rest your head on, and threw his spare jacket over you. He did absolutely not trust you wouldn't somehow dirty the white one and he would be stuck battling the stain forever. And despite his best instincts, he left you alone in his room.
You still woke up when he closed the door, despite it being as gently done as possible, and the gesture warmed you. Maybe you could care for someone since he was the same monster as you and managed to.
