"He will find us, we still have too much time." He was the one to break the peaceful silence after a while. "We should move somewhere he was already checked."

"We can't go up, three players have already led him there."

"Is there an attic?" You shook your head no, but couldn't help smiling as you looked at him. "...Just say it." He sighed.

"We could lock him in somewhere the doors are all made of jawbreakers. He wouldn't be able to break them even with that knife."

"How do you know?"

"Oh, believe me, my shoulder knows. But first, you need to pull this out." You winced, getting off the floor, and sat next to the sink. He still seemed hesitant to pull it, eyes focused on the wound as he tried to assess the trauma. "Aren't you pissed about yesterday?" You switched the topic.

"By now, you should know I don't care enough to be pissed." He rolled his eyes as he lightly pressed the skin around the wound. "I still think you will bleed out before we get to the Beach."

"By now, I should know that you don't care, so why are you hesitating?" A bothersome talk about how he viewed you, a sob story about how you made him better through your competition, and how, in a way, you had always been by his side in some way.

But your contribution to the plan wasn't worth that much, so he settled on not insulting you this time and being partly truthful. "You are smart. Everything is less dull when I have you as competition."

It makes me feel alive, he thought, but you would take it to heart too much, so he shut up. You laughed, leading his hands off your stomach, and he hesitantly looked up at you.

"Alright, you aren't trying to kill me this time. I will listen to you for once." Your laughs were cut short, and the 'shut up' on the edge of his mouth stuck there as the door flew open, a sweaty, hopeless man appearing on the door frame.

He shut the door behind him and panted before he could fully register the two of you in the room. "Y-You guys! You are really doing that in the middle of a game?!"

Chishiya's hand landed on your mouth one more, keeping it shut as heavy footsteps rushed by. "She was stabbed in the stomach." He explained, completely stoic as he removed both his hands from you and stepped back.

"If the witch finds us, we just sacrifice him and go hide somewhere else. I doubt he will find us then." You shrugged, and Chishiya seemed to honestly approve of your plan right in front of the man.

"I know I'm not a crazy good player like you two, but you would both just... sacrifice a human being when you could prevent it?!"

"Yes." You replied without missing a beat. The blond next to you didn't even bother to reply, just leaned on the sink next to you. You weren't doctors anymore, you were in this new, messed-up version of Tokyo, and there was no room for mercy or duty here. "I don't think we will have to in the end, it's only two of Spades, so don't sweat it too much."

The man took a deep breath, trying to calm himself as you showed him the timer that only had five minutes left. The two hours were almost over, and you would soon be able to take this piece of candy piercing through your organs out of your body.

"You are weakest, you were stabbed and your leg is hurt. Why not abandon you instead?!"

"I'm prettier than you." You laughed, and Chishiya muttered you were smarter at the same time. You couldn't help but smile a bit at that, but managed to hide it behind the smug smirk you gave the man. "Priorities." You wiggled your eyebrows and mocked him.

"Little shit." He clicked his tongue, sinking down on the door. The familiar bleeping found was heard soon, and you were all congratulated on winning the game. "Come here." You commanded the man and used his shoulder to get off the countertop.

He huffed and stopped you, lifting you up on his back. "Thanks." You smiled, and surprise was clear on his face at your change of tone. Chishiya followed after you and didn't react even as you grabbed the card and shoved it in your pocket.

You were placed in the backseat of the car while the man drove and Chishiya sat shotgun. A light smile came on your face that didn't leave despite the adrenaline wearing off and the pain in your abdomen and leg steadily increasing. You held a steady conversation with the man driving until you reached the Beach and looked out the window, admiring the new Tokyo.

You were all about bright lights and crowds, but seeing the city go back into the hands of nature and the peaceful atmosphere was also something to appreciate. The man led you down in Ann's lab, a woman you had never had any type of interaction with before, and headed his own way.

You sat on a bed, letting her examine your wound, but the last thing you would remember, besides cursing Chishiya for not coming down here with you, were your eyes slowly closing and you slipping out of consciousness as the woman asked if you were alright.
