Denji, Power and Ranpo were at Aki's place, having a half dinner-half celebration.
Of course, it was a loud night. That is until Power and Denji somehow fell asleep under the table, and snored really loudly.
Aki however, was still grieving for Himeno's death, holding up a cigar.
Aki: Himeno, I'll avenge y-
*RING* *RING* *RING*
A sigh escaped the emo male's mouth as he picked up the phone that was in his right pocket, and pressed, 'Answer'.
"Hayakawa Aki." The intimidating yet calm voice of Makima called, sending slight shivers to Aki.
Aki: Yes?
The phone continued, "Have you heard yet? Edogawa Ranpo is planning on retiring." This caused the raven-haired male to widen his eyes temporarily.
Aki: What? Where have you heard that?
"It doesn't matter. Prevent him from leaving the country, or even retiring. I assure you, he's sneaky. There's a chance we won't even be able to locate him at all once he's retired. Keep your eye on him. You can do it for me...Right?" Though it was just from the phone, Makima's voice made Aki gulp.
Aki: I understand, Makima-san...

A certain brown-clothed detective nibbled on some candies, lying on a chair.
He then got a phonecall. After answering, his eyes widened.
Ranpo: "Okay, I'll retire! This is such a blessing, I love youuu!"
And a certain someone was stalking the poor detective, how cruel.
Loud footsteps followed with the crunching grass. It started getting quieter, until it couldn't be heard. But of course, this did not go unnoticed by Ranpo.
Why did Ranpo want to retire? Well...
Earlier, the person who talked to Ranpo was a cop that offered him infinite candies if he could help them with a case. And in order to do that, he has to retire.
Ranpo: "I don't think I need to retire though, but this is a win-win."
