A mirror does nothing else other than reflect whatever it is, that is in front of it. For example, if a boy were to stand perfectly still in its reflective face, there would be a similarly reflecting image, staring right at him...lingering.

It was as dark as pitch that night, as the woman and her significant other sped down the lengthy road to their destination. The spur of cold winded sea-air flushed her face with life, whilst the stars kissed her lips with loving shimmers and even more wonderful dreams. Her head lay soundly on the car's windowsill, enjoying the view of an everlasting abyss amongst the blackened unsurity of the ocean.
"The sea is wonderful in these parts; we should visit again come summer next year." The woman suggested, her tone unreadable.
"You know I'm never free in the summertime Shari. You can take the car and go yourself- I'm sure everyone would be pleased to have you..." The man responded rather rigidly.
"But it'd be better with you there......Can't you take leave? Just for once?" She inquired; a bit more yearning in her voice.
"No. Absolutely not. That time is precious."
"...." There was silence, both increasingly hard to read but also painfully understandable. Shari's head lowered as her heart ached at her husband's response.
".......But that.... thing.... What if... What if it happens-around the wrong people.... What if something goes wrong?" The woman looked at the man, a certain hope glimmering in her eyes whilst she looked at him. Yet, the man only responded in silence, facing the road ahead without a distant flash of emotion masking his pleasant features. It was all she needed, to know that the answer was still no. Her hope simmering into the darkness of the night.
Then, abruptly, the man sighed. "Okay, fine...I'm sure I can find some time to spare, so we can spend a week or two.... If it bothers you so much." The man answered in a quaint manner, a small smile emerging from his lips. The moment she heard those words, her face lit up- beaming through the darkness, like a lighthouse that would lead ships through the charcoal night.
"Thank you, Ash..."

"Riri! Riri?! Riri come on now, open the door!"
".... No..."
"I need to redress your wounds! And it's getting late! We don't have much time..."
".... Okay- just give me a minute...or...two-"
"Is it your body?! Do you not want me to see it cus you think it's ugly?! Don't worry Riri I think your body is beautiful! Those bruises will heal in no time too! Besides I've seen you naked plenty of times!"
"No!! It's just...give me a minute- I just need to..."
"I'm coming in!"
"No- wait! Hold on- Don't come in yet!"
Ayani, who had been stuck waiting outside of Zahri's door for the last 15 minutes, came rushing into his room, only to find him standing in the middle of it-in the most unenthusiastic, distasteful, unattractive, gothic, dreary, horrid, eye soar-inducing clothes she'd ever seen him in. She couldn't help but let her mouth hang agape, she truly, for the first time in a while, felt to faint right there on the spot.
"Mom!" Zahri said, looking more apologetic that he insulted her eyes, than the fact he insulted his own body wearing that.
"I do not want to hear it." She said, abruptly moving from the door to his closet. "We're wasting time- and you're wearing black to a family function!"
