Chapter Three
Kegger

CW: underage drinking and violence

Stella was dressed in a pink flow tank top and Jean shorts and when she saw Sarah put on her favorite summer dress she furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Sarah," she started as said girl put on mascara. "I love dressing up and your dress is super cute but this is a kegger. Not some fancy party," she honestly loved Sarah's outfit she just didn't want it to get beer spilled on it.

"I know. But I love this dress so I'm wearing it," she grinned and grabbed Stella's hand before dragging her down the stairs. "Come on Top is taking us."

Stella held back a groan as the two lovebirds kissed in greeting and shoved her into the backseat.

When they got to the boneyard Stella immediately ran out of the car, yelling, "see you later," and finding the nearest cup of alcohol.

"Well, well, well," a voice said and Stella turned to see John B and JJ standing at the keg handing out beer. "If it isn't princess Sunny," JJ said with a smirk as he grabbed her hand and twirled her around.

She giggled and pat the keg in front of her, "so what fine beverage do you have tonight?"

John B smirked, "only the best."

She hummed, "do tell, do tell."

JJ butted in as John B poured her a cup. "It's a month old moonshine that sat in the heat for five hours before we stole it off of cousin Rickys porch," he smiled smugly as Stella took the cup from John B.

She smelled it and grimaced before taking a sip, "not bad, could use some ice cubs but I'd give it a solid 6."

JJ and John B gasped in mock offense, "that's two points down from last time!" JJ yelled.

"We need to step up our game," John B agreed.

Stella just laughed, "better luck next time boys," she said and walked off to find people to talk to.

It was dark outside and Stella had three successful conversations with strangers and four beers.

She only felt slightly tipsy as she stumbled over to where her favorite pogue was sat on a log, observing the party.

"Pope," she said formally as he grinned at her. "How are you this fine evening?"

"How many drinks have you had tonight?" He asked as she thought for a second before holding up four fingers in delight. "You are drunk," he stated the obvious.

Stella shook her head, "I'm tipsy. I'm as sober as a judge," she said and leaned into his side.

"You know you just contradicted yourself?" He asked as she played with the bracelets on his wrist.

"Yeah whatever," she mumbled. She sat back up and stared into his eyes. "You have the most beautiful aura you know?"

Pope furrowed his brows, "thank you?" He didn't know what half the stuff she said ment most of the time.

The two were a very strange pair. Pope felt confident around the girl and he was not very confident. Stella always felt safe around him and she could confidently say that she trusted him with her life even though they only hung out a handful of times since she moved.

Her eyes quickly flickered down to his lips before going back to his eyes. He noticed it but was frozen in place.

She started leaning into him but was stopped when she heard a yell.
